Pain in buttocks and legs

Hi everyone!

I'm 18.5 weeks pregnant now and feeling a bit worried. Lately, I've been trying to get used to sleeping on my side, but since I started doing that, I've been getting terrible pain in my buttocks and legs—I can't sleep from it anymore. The pain shoots down into my heels and wakes me up. As soon as I stand up, the pain goes away. I only get it when lying down, and also when sitting for a long time on an uncomfortable chair.

I've been feeling the baby regularly since 15.5 weeks. But now, I haven't felt the baby for 2 days, and my breasts and belly have suddenly become very "quiet and normal." Before, my breasts were big and sore, and I already had trouble turning over in bed because my belly was so sensitive. Can this just suddenly go away?

I don't want to worry too much, but I can't help it. Has anyone else had similar experiences?

Best,

I can relate to the pain you're describing in your hips and legs. I found it awful, although for me it was more towards the end of my pregnancy.

It's not that unusual not to feel the baby for a couple of days; around 24 weeks, you don't need to feel the baby every day. Not yet, anyway.

But if you're worried, I'd suggest calling your midwife. You know your body and your feelings best. Good luck!!
