Miscarriage or wait and see?
Lisa00
Hi everyone! My partner and I found out on Monday that I’m pregnant. Today marks exactly 4 weeks.
I was at work today when I noticed quite a bit of blood with small clots during a toilet visit. I didn’t have extreme pain or cramps, but I’ve had a dull ache in my lower abdomen and some pressure (especially when urinating or when I need to go) since Saturday.
I contacted the gynecology department immediately. I was examined by a nurse, and the ultrasound showed nothing unusual, which is normal for such an early pregnancy. My first blood test (on Monday) showed an hCG level of 1200. Today, it was 1300. The nurse said it’s most likely a miscarriage because my hCG level rose so slowly; she said it should have doubled, she explained.
Now I have to wait 4 days for a new blood test and another ultrasound—it will feel like an eternity! This uncertainty is terrible. I’m still hoping against hope that the baby is still there since my hCG level didn’t drop.
What do you all think? Has anyone experienced this? Thanks in advance! Lots of love.
