The story doesn't add up.

Unfortunately, my ultrasound doesn't match up.. and I'm scared of a miscarriage.. Here's the story.

Last day of period was September 6th (you count from there)

Had sex on September 28th

October 14th positive test

October 31st early ultrasound. Should be about 8 weeks then.

But the baby was heeeelllly hard to find. The counting can't be that far off, right? She said I was counting wrong, but if we shift it, the proportions don't seem right to me. Instead of just saying, it's not good. She said she could see the baby, okay, saw nothing.. so small.

Follow-up ultrasound in a week.

    8 weeks is correct then?
The baby is only 2 cm, so there’s not much to see. Or do I misunderstand your story?

By the way, you have to count from the first day of your last period, so not September 6 but September 1 (assuming 5 days of flow). That puts you at almost 9 weeks. Between September 1 and your positive test, that’s 7 weeks. Honestly, that seems really strong to me, unless you meant September 16.

Unfortunately, that means it's a miscarriage. Because at 8 weeks you should have seen a heartbeat and not just a tiny little baby.

I find it quite a big deal when someone just says, "unfortunately," and it becomes a miscarriage. You don't know for sure yet. And that's not nice to read and gives even more stress.

I'd wait until next week; there's nothing more you can do. And that will surely bring more clarity. At 6 weeks, they often see something there, but not very clearly. So who knows, maybe you're just earlier than expected. And had a longer cycle. Wishing you all the best! Good luck.

Oh, sorry! I just noticed you mentioned the miscarriage yourself. Got startled! Didn't read it properly. Thought someone else had written it.

    Well, good luck!

I also think your calculation is off and you're indeed further along than you thought... I'm curious how you're doing, good luck and hopefully more to see at the next ultrasound.

Hey Loola, are you by any chance the Loola who was posting in the December 2017 group?
  8. Floor Guest #9

Yeah, the count doesn't add up. You also can't apply the standard count properly if you have a late ovulation. We're already 11 days further now; can't you get another ultrasound? Then there should be something to see.

Hey Kat! Sure, how are you?
  10. Kat #11

Oh, how nice! Things are going well here. The little girl is really growing up. She's already talking quite well

How are you and the little man doing? Am I right that you're pregnant with the third one?
  11. Loola #12

Hey girls! That's so nice to hear! Our little man is growing up here too, he's already babbling and doing great . Soon he'll be 2! Time flies, doesn't it? I'm now pregnant with the 3rd one! Just 6 weeks along now. And you? Or are you still enjoying every moment with your daughter? Lots of love!
  12. Kat #13

Hey! Oh, chatting is so fun, right Here too, there are whole stories, although I still don't understand half of them. Glad he's doing so well. Yeah, almost 2 already again, time really flies.

Congratulations! Super nice to have a 3rd one! We're still keeping it at 2 for now, really struggling with whether to have a 3rd or not. So for now, it's postponed.

I wish you a nice pregnancy and hopefully this baby will come around 40 weeks instead of 42 weeks like your son

    Love

    Hey sweet Kat
Here we also chat a lot but it's not very understandable indeed haha so cute because he does it so confidently and I just say "oh yes boy"
I understand with 2 that it's (for now) enough for a while. Luckily you still have a few years to go for a third anyway who knows
And how nice that you still remember that Sem was (almost) 2 weeks overdue! Exactly 12 days but my daughter was also 12 days overdue so I'm afraid this one will do the same haha. But given my age with this last pregnancy I think this one won't stay long enough I also find being pregnant lovely .
I'm so curious again what it's going to be! I'd love a boy for Sem but a girl would also be amazing .. I think it would be really nice for her to have a big sister

Hey loola, haha so relatable. If I can't make anything of it, I always say "really?"
Yeah, I'm 31 now, so we still have a few years. But the fact that we're already doubting it now probably means there will be a 3rd The question is mainly when. But for now, we're just going to enjoy the fact that we've finally been able to sleep through the night for two months
Yeah, I remember it well because I had "caught up" with you. Lily was actually due on the 29th but came on the 16th. But if your daughter was also 12 days late, I'd start taking that into account now too.
Oh yeah, the big sister was already quite a bit older, right? Does she like having a little brother?
I'm also curious what it's going to be!

@topicstarter sorry for hijacking your thread! I'm curious if you've had another ultrasound by now and what the result is?
