Sensitive and hard contractions

ChantalGuest ·
I'm about three months pregnant now (yay! ). Lately I've noticed that I've become much more sensitive 'down under'. Luckily, I read here and there that this is a normal pregnancy symptom. What is annoying, though, is that I get regular hardening of the abdomen because of this. After a while, this cramp does go away, but it doesn't feel very nice. Do you all know this? Can you prevent it?

    Congratulations on your pregnancy!
Do you get the hard contractions when you've done too much, like lifting? Usually, it's a sign that you should take it a bit easier.

Hey, I’ve had that a lot too, especially when working. Now I’m on leave and have to work for another month, but I’ve decided to stop because it’s physical work, and I’d rather listen to my body and rest.

I mainly notice it after sexual exertion, you know. Maybe I should stop doing that, but as I already mentioned, it's quite sensitive down there, and this has also increased the urge. Tricky... Glad to hear that hardening is normal otherwise.

    Hi Chantal,
Yes, completely normal! I had that too during the first few months. I'm now 5 months and 3 weeks pregnant and have almost no discomfort anymore. Greetings, Veer!

Thanks, Veer! Could you prevent it? I find it such an unpleasant feeling. It's nice that it apparently decreases or even disappears later in the pregnancy.

Yeah, prevent it by not going 'all the way', but then there's nothing to it either, hahaha!

No indeed, something similar again. ;-)

A warm water bottle can also help.
