Are there any people with a high BMI?

Hi,
I was in the middle of losing weight when I found out I was pregnant.
Now I still have a very high BMI (42).
And in 2 weeks I'm going to continue with the gynecologist.
My question is, are there other women who are currently pregnant or have been pregnant with a high BMI?
And how did it go for you??
Of course I'm still trying to pay attention, and so far I haven't gained any weight, but I read such intense stories online that it really scares me.

A BMI of 42 is really serious! I don't know exactly what this means for your pregnancy, but it's really good that you started losing weight for yourself. Get professional help; you'd better not try to handle this on your own, dear!

I got pregnant with a BMI of 44.2. I gave birth to a healthy baby.
I started dieting right after the birth. I now have a BMI of 36. I'm pregnant with the second one. After the birth, I'll go back on a diet for a healthy BMI. I'm definitely paying extra attention to my diet. I didn't gain any weight during either pregnancy. I'm currently 12 weeks pregnant, almost 13. Just eating healthy and staying active. I walked until the day before my delivery.

I also looked it up. I already knew I was a bit overweight, but it doesn't sound very nice. Not as tall as you, but the most important thing is good information and support, and making sure you reach a good outcome. For me, it just meant having a sugar test done. But I myself am just over a BMI of 30, so I have no idea about higher. Congratulations on your pregnancy, and hopefully, it won't mean any extra issues for you I've also promised myself to start losing weight again after that time. We'll see in the future.

Here too, a BMI that's a bit high, I think around 31 or so. I had a sugar test at 24 and 32 weeks during my last pregnancy. This time around, I'm getting that again. Being on a diet during pregnancy is really not good. Just eat healthy and varied. I think that with a BMI of 42, you'll definitely get a referral from the gynecologist to a dietitian who can help you with a healthy eating plan.

    Hi there,

I also had a very high BMI when I got pregnant (BMI 38).

This meant the gynecologist couldn't get clear ultrasounds. Sometimes it worked, but often details were missing, so she couldn't be sure our baby was okay. But I didn't have any complications. My sugar test was fine, my blood pressure was fine too... I was nauseous for 9 months, so by the end of the pregnancy I'd only gained 3 kg. About a week after giving birth, I weighed 10 kg less than before the pregnancy haha. I wish you a lovely pregnancy anyway.

My sugar levels were indeed good too. I hadn't gained any weight, and after giving birth, I lost 10 kilos. Then another 20 kilos off.

I have a BMI of 27. Went to the OB-GYN yesterday and she didn't really say anything about it.

I've gained 10 kilos in the last 6 months. We're building a house, so we're temporarily living with my in-laws (until early August) and they cook a lot, uh... fattier than I'm used to. They also spoil us almost daily: ice cream, pancakes for breakfast, ready-made meals... really tasty, but yeah... not great for the pounds. I'm the one who can't say "no" and just eats everything. Anyway, I expect we'll eat "normally" again from August onwards and the weight will naturally come off. I can get back on my spinning bike then (it's currently stored).

I do have high blood pressure, but that was also the case when my BMI was fine. It needs to be monitored closely due to the risk of pre-eclampsia.
