Well, I had everything sorted out with my two oldest too, and still ended up a single mom. So being together or not, it doesn't mean anything. A job can also fall through or your finances can change. What really matters in the end is whether you're ready for motherhood yourself. If you are, you can handle all problems because you'll do everything for your child.
I tested positive at 9 DPO with my youngest. The reason I tested so early... I was lying on the couch watching TV in the evening at 6 DPO and felt one sharp stab on the left side of my uterus. I had that the cycle before too and was pregnant then. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a miscarriage. But now I had this again, followed by some bleeding the next morning. My placenta was also on the left during my pregnancy.
I quickly made HCG, tests rose every day.
The only thing you can do is wait and keep testing. And if you're pregnant, make the right choice. Good luck! -

I’m all for being critical and sharing opinions on a forum.
But using your own miscarriage to attack someone else feels too cruel to me. Yes, it’s unfair. But she’s not talking about negligence or abortion. She’s talking about it not being ideal. She used a condom.
She doesn’t say when she doubted whether things had gone well. She does hint that the baby was welcome and that she would have cared for her with all her love.
I understand your pain, and I think you’re still speaking from that pain. We had 3 miscarriages in 10 months. That was after trying for 14 months. I had the same thoughts and feelings as you. Now, years later and with 2 kids, the grief has been processed and those feelings have faded as we worked through the loss. I believe you’re allowed to have those feelings, but you can’t and shouldn’t express them everywhere. You do need to express them, just not in topics like this. -

Well said in the last bit, anonymous. And 3 miscarriages in 10 months is super tough! -

I find it quite personal of you to call it negligence. I read in your original post that you already had strong doubts shortly after the encounter. If you had used a condom, you wouldn't be in this situation now. To me, this is negligence. Some women here are really bitter about it... Well, I understand that too. Not everyone grows up in an ideal family. But if the foundation is shaky from the start, you really need to be strong on your feet. Besides, there's a huge difference between an anonymous donor and a father who is known and helps shape the upbringing. Strength with your decision. -

What over-the-top reactions! As if it's her fault that others have such a hard time getting pregnant or having a miscarriage...
Yes, Puck, I know by now that you've had a miscarriage; it's mentioned in several threads. But please stop taking it out on people you don't even know!
This woman is here just to ask for advice, not to be torn apart like this. Jesus! -

I'm the same anonymous user as above, Fifi. Now, I don't think it's her fault that other people don't get pregnant, have difficulties, suffer a miscarriage, or whatever. But she makes it seem like this is totally not her fault. While other threads clearly show that she knew the risks and even suspected them. So you shouldn't wash your hands in innocence and pretend to be honest. You knew, and yes, it's almost a certainty now. But we're completely off track. The thread starter just wanted to know if we saw it too. And yes, I see it. I'd say take the test again. -

Ugh, if you can't be honest here on this forum about how certain things make you feel, where then?! And as you yourself (quite rudely!!) said: you don't read that nicely, Fifi!
Yeah, I struggle with people who handle it this way. And I like to explain why, so people can understand. Sorry that other people are bothered by my pain. And it's remarkable that the only people you can get empathy from seem to be people who have had even more thrown at them.
I've explained and nuanced my reaction above. I don't have the energy for a kick in the teeth, especially not from someone who can show so little understanding for others. You'd think your miscarriage, Fifi, and your gynecologist's reaction would have given you more empathy, but unfortunately not.... -

My post about bleeding is also not something that should be discussed in this topic, because it has absolutely nothing to do with it.
Like your post about 'if you were pregnant now, I find this unfair because I want it so much and you were just careless'.
I think it's very sad for everyone who gets a miscarriage, and I truly hope from the bottom of my heart that I'll be spared from it. But this topic was opened with the question whether we want to look at her test together. Not to get commentary on her one-night stand or the fact that this is unfair.
I have all understanding for your miscarriage, but sometimes you need to be able to separate this from what other people are going through.
And maybe the pregnancy hormones are making me not always phrase things as tactfully
. -

I agree with Fifi. And it's all expressed so well. It's not the first topic where people respond in a rotten way and say that people don't deserve to be pregnant. That people shouldn't complain about their issues. This forum is really starting to become unpleasant.
It's terrible for those who have had an MC (miscarriage), and everyone empathizes with them. But that doesn't mean you should blame someone else. No one can do anything about it. It's just nature. There are people who are trying for 2, 3, sometimes even 4 or 5 years and don't react that way to others. Let everyone be in their own space, because it's really bothering me. -

Most of the recent replies haven't been read. Just took another test and it's clearly positive. I'm devastated. The father doesn't want the baby and is already trying to force me into having an abortion. I don't know what to do anymore. I'm completely broken. -

The dad's reaction is understandable.. He probably just found out? Give him some time. Give yourself some time too. I wouldn't rush into an abortion right now. -

Yeah, just told him. He says his first child was a traumatic experience because his ex went completely crazy mentally. But I can't get through to him that I'm not crazy. He's afraid he'll have to pay child support. But I'm financially fine, so it's not really necessary. -

Indeed, think it over carefully before making your choices. -

It’s a bit of a shock for him since he was convinced he’d done everything right
I’d give him some time. It’s still very early, and he’ll most likely come to terms with it. And even if he doesn’t, that’s no reason for an abortion, especially since you’ve managed things well with your parents and financially/housing-wise, as you mentioned. Try not to stress too much and just get used to the idea. You’re not even 4 weeks along yet. My husband also needed some time to adjust, even though we had “planned” (to the extent that’s possible) to get pregnant. It suddenly becomes very real. Especially when it’s unplanned. -

I'll join the others and suggest letting it sink in for him too. After all, he was careless, right? So he knew the risk. You need to decide for yourself which choice you can live with. Do you want this baby? And can you manage alone if it comes to that? I think it's really unfortunate that he immediately starts talking about money matters like alimony. As if that's the most important thing. When it comes to that, women are often much more understanding. Make your decision independent of what he wants, and who knows, he might just take responsibility after all. Good luck! -

I had light red bleeding when wiping today, followed by some brownish mucus. Also some mild abdominal pain. I took an early test and the line on it was lighter than yesterday. I used urine that had been in my bladder for less than 15 minutes, but I really wanted to test. Is this a miscarriage? Or has implantation completed, causing some bleeding? And is the test less positive because the urine wasn't concentrated enough? -
Puck #38
It can all happen. Unfortunately, you'll just have to wait and see. I'd suggest testing again in two days to be sure. -

Good luck, Lisa. I find it hard to cheer for you because I can't quite tell if you really want it. How are things now? Is it still not there? -
proud_mommy #40
Test again in about 2 days. It's quite possible that your urine was less concentrated.
