Bleeding at five weeks and five days

Ladies,

Last year I had a miscarriage. The gestational sac was empty, so I had a D&C. I didn't really have any symptoms at all.

Now I'm pregnant again, 5 weeks and 5 days today. My last period was on February 26th. Since Thursday I've been bleeding. It's pink/brown, not red, mixed with discharge, no clots and no stomach pain. I'm terrified. It stopped briefly on Friday, but came back last night and now it's a bit more. The color stays brownish-pink. It's in the panty liner and when wiping.

My GP doesn't know yet that I'm pregnant. I wanted to keep it quiet for now. So I don't have a midwife yet either.
But now I'm naturally extremely worried. From 6 weeks you should be able to see the heartbeat. Hopefully I can come in soon, tomorrow I'll call a midwife practice to register.

I also had pink discharge, mixed with brown. For me, things went weird anyway, because I also got a sort of period at some point. Later, it turned out I was pregnant after all. The bleeding stopped two days ago, and now I have normal discharge again. With my first pregnancy, I also had pink/brown discharge, and even had a clot once between 5 and 7 weeks. It all turned out to be false alarm, and I now have a beautiful daughter. So for now, I'm trying to assume it's the same this time. I did consider asking for an early scan, but if you're too early to hear a heartbeat, it just causes more worry. And if something goes wrong, the midwife can't do anything about it anyway. That's why I'm just waiting and seeing.

I'm rooting for you to have a beautiful, healthy pregnancy now.

I’ve been through it too. On the day of my NTD scan, I thought I was on my period, but it didn’t actually happen. This kept coming back every week. Pink blood, brown old blood, bright red blood, and once even with clots. I was completely examined by a gynecologist. The only thing that came out of it was a bladder infection. At 15 weeks, I hadn’t had any bleeding anymore, and now I have a beautiful daughter who’s almost 4 months old.
Congratulations to both of you, and I’m rooting for a beautiful pregnancy

Had two miscarriages for my daughter, so I completely understand your fear, Marelle
