Waiting for a miscarriage

Hi,
I hope someone can give me advice. Last Tuesday I had my dating scan, and I was supposed to be exactly 10 weeks at that time. Unfortunately, after 20 measurements, I was told that it was only 6 weeks and 6 days, and that no heartbeat could be found anymore, meaning the baby had already passed away 3 weeks prior. Now, last Thursday I went to the emergency room because I was quite worried. They told me again that the baby had passed away, but the first measurement showed 7 weeks and 5 days. Can anyone explain how this is possible, considering the baby had already been gone for 3 weeks? I still don't have any abdominal pain or bleeding, and I'm being told continuously that this is normal and that I just need to wait. On Tuesday afternoon, I can finally see my gynecologist to discuss miscarriage options.

In the beginning, an ultrasound measurement can still be tricky. A millimeter can mean a difference of a few days. But if you were actually 7 weeks and 5 days along, there should already be a heartbeat. Strength!

3 weeks ago, the crown-rump length was clearly visible. Last Tuesday, it was still the same measurement, and 2 days later, there was suddenly a difference of 5 days. Still no symptoms of an impending miscarriage. As hard as it is, I'll have to accept it. Thank you.
