What do I feel?

Hi everyone

According to calculations, I'm 4 weeks pregnant and found out on Valentine's Day (surprise)!

It's been a few days now and I've been having some cramps, like I'm about to get my period.
Does anyone know about these cramps? Should I be worried or is it completely normal?

Love x

Totally normal! You can't see anything from the outside yet, but inside, there's a lot going on. Your uterus is stretching, and you can feel that.

    Congratulations

    Crumb,

Congratulations to you too! Thanks for your message because I was getting a bit worried.
Are you 35 weeks now as I see on your photo? At how many weeks or with what complaints (hihi) did you go to the GP?
I did the calculations via sites (maybe silly) but according to all of them I am 4 weeks, I would really like to know the exact date. Should I wait a bit longer or should I go for a CB scan anyway?

That's right, 35 weeks with my 3rd baby!

I got pregnant with medication, so I knew exactly how far along I was. So I called my midwife right after the positive test (3w5d) for an ultrasound.

Do you live in the Netherlands? Then you can do that too. Look for a midwife in your area that you feel comfortable with and call for an intake/ultrasound. They'll initially calculate based on the first day of your last period, but they'll adjust it if the ultrasound shows you're further or less along.

With a Clear Blue, you won't get much further; it only gives an indication. If you took it now, it would say "2-3 weeks" (you have to add 2 weeks to that), so it would indicate you're 4-5 weeks pregnant.

That's so lovely! Already your third baby . Blessed mom and dad, you are.
Oh, is that so? I live in the Netherlands but I didn't know what you're saying. This is our first baby. I'll definitely look into that. It'll save me an appointment with the GP.
May I ask (if you still remember) what you felt at the beginning of your pregnancy? When I found out two days ago, I didn't quite know how to feel. I'm a bit calmer now but everything is still going through my head and I'm not really managing it well. You'd think 'you still have 9 months' but before you know it, it's here. Where did you start with your first miracle?

    Love x

God's child don't stress about the cramps, please they're totally normal! Also the twinges, tender breasts, bloating, etc. At 5 or 6 weeks I started getting nausea too I'm going through the hospital with my OB-GYN. But what Crumblie says is exactly right Also, they only know your exact due date after the 12-week scan because every baby develops at a different pace until then

A lot is going to hit you in the first few weeks!
I only had really bad stomach cramps for my first one. The kind of cramps you get when you're about to get your period No other complaints until around week 6 or 7 (nausea, fatigue). Everything felt so scary, and I thought a hundred times a day that something was going wrong.
In those first few weeks, you can't really do much.. start by looking for a nice midwife online.. contact them, and there's not much else you can do but wait for the first ultrasound. Yes, of course, pay attention to what you eat and drink, and I was already taking prenatal multivitamins, so if you're not doing that, I'd start with that (or at least with folic acid).

Oh yeah, go to HEMA or something for a cute little mini romper I had one of those on my nightstand for every kid, and you melt every time you pick it up again, haha!

    Hi Kruimel and San1989,

Sorry for my late reply. The last few days have been quite busy and hectic here, and I came home feeling very exhausted. Thanks for your replies. We're now a week further along, and besides wanting to put everything in my mouth, feeling tired, and having sore boobs, I haven't had any other issues. Not even cramps anymore. Is that normal? I went to a midwife I found online, just like Kruimel suggested. She's a very kind, small, and spontaneous lady. I've registered properly, and my first ultrasound is on March 12. Exciting! I've also told my work about it. My supervisor reacted in a nice way too. I just hope he'll be a bit more considerate of me now. I work as a chef in hospitality, but besides cooking, I have other (****) tasks that will be too heavy for me in the coming weeks. But we'll see how it goes. By the way, I also noticed that my stool is different now (sorry, I know, nasty!). I'm lactose intolerant, but I can now drink regular cow's milk without experiencing any complaints that I used to have before. I don't mind it though, milk is tasty and healthy.

How are things going for you?

    Love, X

Godschild totally forgot to reply, boo! Haha Everything is going well here. I'm going on March 12th too, but for the 3rd ultrasound (11w+5d), exciting. Otherwise, my belly is starting to pull quite a bit now, haha, and the cramps are still there. But all symptoms vary. Like one day I felt super rough, and other days it was okay. How are things with you now? Are you starting to feel more pregnant

    Hey Ladies!
I tested positive yesterday too! I'm 3+5 weeks today and have had cramps for a few days, like my period is coming. But no bleeding yet, and 3 positive tests suggest otherwise .
I had blood drawn yesterday and got confirmation this morning that I am indeed pregnant . I called the gynecologist today and am scheduled for my first ultrasound on April 8th. I'll be 7+4 weeks (by my calculation).
I also asked if these cramps are normal, and she immediately reassured me that this is completely normal! As long as there's no bleeding, I absolutely don't need to worry!
