Hey everyone,

I'm new here on the forum. The reason I'm here is that I'm a bit worried and want to share my story for a bit.

I stopped taking the mini-pill this summer. I had an appointment on July 27th for my injection, but I ended up not getting it.

Now, about 5 or 6 months later, I took a test because I was 10 days late. It was positive. Hooray!

My last period started on December 18th. I should have gotten my period on January 15th.

I took the positive test on January 25th.

I had an appointment for the first ultrasound on February 14th. Right on Valentine's Day. I couldn't imagine a more beautiful day.

We were hoping for a nice image with a beating heart and all the right shapes, since I calculated I would be 8 weeks and 2 days pregnant.

The internal ultrasound showed 6 weeks and 2 days without a heartbeat. Of course, I couldn't hold back the tears.

The gynecologist said she couldn't say yet if this is good or bad. I have to come back in 5 days to see if there is any progress... on February 19th.

I'm so scared. There's a 2-week difference, doesn't that mean I conceived on the day I was supposed to get my period? And is that even possible?

I don't know if I should worry too much, but I do anyway. I'm constantly Googling about it. I'm going crazy from the uncertainty.

Has anyone else here had experience with this?

Below is the ultrasound. Do you think it looks normal in relation to the dates?

Thanks for letting me share my story here, and I hope to hear from you.

    Dear sweetie,
I saw you reply to another post and felt I had to respond. Unfortunately, I know exactly the boat you're in. I was at 7 weeks in October and turned out to be only 5 weeks on the ultrasound. A few days later I started bleeding, and a week later it progressed, and unfortunately, I had a miscarriage
What I really have to advise you is to follow your own intuition. This is truly the only one that can tell you whether things will turn out okay or not. Reading those stories only makes it worse, plus everyone's situation is different. Both good and bad stories. I'm afraid that you won't get good news on Tuesday, but I'm crossing my fingers that you're one of the exceptions

    Hi,

What an uncertain story! I had my first ultrasound at 6 weeks and 4 days, and the baby was 6 mm, so the size would indeed match that. At 7 weeks + 4 days, the baby was 10.5 mm. So it's definitely too small for 8 weeks.

I hope for good news for you, but I understand that you're feeling quite uncertain!

    Good luck

Hi San. My gut feeling really isn't saying anything. I don't really feel pregnant either. Almost no symptoms. According to the OB-GYN, this has nothing to do with it. It could really go either way. Sorry to hear that things didn't work out for you. I'll keep hoping as long as there's no bleeding. I'll definitely update the status here. Thanks in advance for your reply

Hi Shooting Star, thanks for your reply. I really hope things work out well. Hoping it was a late implantation..

Since you only tested after 10 days, you don't know if you were already pregnant at the right time. Did you have a light or dark line?

What luck that you're so regular right after the contraceptive shot. It says 18 months on it.

What a feeling of uncertainty. Can you roughly estimate if you had sex around the date of your expected period? That way, you might already know if it's possible or not. I was also moved from 8 weeks to 6 weeks in the summer because there wasn't much to see on the ultrasound yet. I had to come back a week later. But I already knew that wasn't possible because we hadn't had sex during that period. So, a week later, I was told that the baby hadn't grown.

    Hi,

Actually, a late implantation isn't really possible if you've tested positive. If you're positive, it's already implanted because that's when hCG is released. So if you're counting from Jan 25, you should be at least 7 weeks by now :-(
But only 3 more days of uncertainty and then you'll know!
Symptoms don't mean anything at all, I had a miscarriage in June and had way more symptoms then than in this pregnancy! At the beginning of this one, I basically had none at all!

Hi anon, that was definitely a big plus right away. And yeah, it really went smoothly.

It's sad to hear that yours went down the wrong path I have sex quite often and don't really keep track of it. Pff I feel so desperate. That would really be a shame. We're looking forward to it though.

Shooting star, I'm now 6w4d, which is almost 7w. Ugh... Keeping the hope alive.

Hi sweetie, I understand your uncertainty. Have you been using ovulation tests? And was your cycle regular right after stopping the pill? Maybe the month you got pregnant was actually the first month your ovulation was on track, and it happened later than expected. Which means you'd naturally be less pregnant than calculated.

I hope everything is okay. Having lost a baby at 26 weeks, I know well how it feels to lose a dream, no matter how early it was. Fingers crossed for good news!

@im Last time I was supposed to get my period, I told my partner, "I'm gonna get my period tomorrow," and then a few hours later, it was already on. So I'm assuming I ovulated regularly. I only just noticed that last time. I really hope everything is normal and that it was just a late implantation. I didn't use ovulation tests. We just did our thing and saw what would happen. And wow, 26 weeks... I find that so sad.

That makes a bit more sense to me. Even with late implantation, it’s tight. An ovulation a few days later would make the story more plausible, which is certainly not impossible!
Unfortunately, there’s nothing else you can do but wait I really hope everything is okay! I wouldn’t wish this loss on anyone. Whether it’s at 26 weeks or after a positive test, a dream is gone. The aftermath is just different. I’m now 17 weeks pregnant and everything has been fine so far. The fear is still there, of course, since it wasn’t just bad luck. I’ve found this forum really helpful. Hopefully, you’ll find support here too

How did it go today? I hope everything was okay!

Bad news. It stopped growing at 6 weeks. I'm starting Cytotec on Friday. .

What a nasty message for your little sweetheart xx
  14. lm #15

Aww, that's so sad! I was secretly hoping for better news. Wishing you lots of strength in the coming days, hopefully it's not too bad with the Cytotec. You know where to find us!

Yeah, I would have liked to see it differently...

Sweet! What such sad news take your time to process it and talk about it. Maybe a little pep talk I only had MS once and got pregnant again after. I'm rooting for you keep us posted. X
