Just wait it out. You just gave birth. Everything still needs to get going.

Okay, I'll try. It's already so uncertain, and you hear so much that there are women who get pregnant again so quickly.

If you really want to know for sure, you'd take a test, right?

Yes, indeed, but it’s probably still too early, so it’ll likely show negative. I’ll have to wait another week to be sure. Just wondering if there are others who’ve experienced this or heard anything about it.

Either test or wait. What I do know is that after childbirth, your cycle can be all over the place.. they don't necessarily start normally right away, so it's quite possible that your luteal phase was short this time. Maybe it's a natural mechanism of your body to ensure you don't get pregnant yet. I'd keep an eye on it, let the bleeding continue if you're sure, and otherwise test after a few days. Congratulations on the birth of Neyomi!

You know how you get pregnant, right? If you don't want that, you shouldn't have unsafe sex.

Thanks Anne, and yes, I'll definitely just wait and see. And anonymously, I know I should have avoided unsafe sex, but we thought it wouldn't hurt since the gynecologist said it was better to avoid sex this week because ovulation could happen any moment. So we abstained for 12 days. But yeah, they can't know exactly how the body will react and change. If it is, it's our own fault, but that doesn't make us less welcome. After this, we'll definitely be more careful than we've been. And it could still be a false alarm.
