Drugs/alcohol/marijuana during pregnancy

Hi everyone.
I'm 20 years old (turning 21 in 3 months) and today I found out that I'm apparently already 5-6 weeks pregnant. I've been with my boyfriend for a while and have been living on my own for a few years, so we're ready for this... Except I've been drinking alcohol and smoking joints at least 5-6 nights a week over the past few weeks, and I also used cocaine once and just enjoyed life. Obviously, I've stopped everything cold turkey overnight now because I feel like that's absolutely not okay... I feel so guilty; if I had known, I wouldn't have used... I'd really like to keep the baby, but I don't know how far this damage could go to the baby, since it was during the first few weeks... Any people with experiences or tips? Experts who can help me understand better? Best regards

    Hi hi,

First of all: big congratulations on your pregnancy!

Secondly: enjoy your life haha, it's not worth ruining your life over, dear.

Thirdly: don't worry too much, because in the beginning, there's no connection with your blood.

When did you find out you're pregnant? Definitely don't do that anymore he but I think you can rest easy. Tell your midwife about it at your first appointment.

Wishing you lots of success and enjoy your pregnancy x

Hey Stef! Thanks for your reply I found out today! Of course, I immediately threw out all the clutter. Still, I'm quite worried about it, which is why I thought I'd ask around if anyone has experienced this or knows anything about it... It's already very reassuring to hear that the embryo didn't have contact with my blood at that point, thanks for mentioning that I'll definitely pass it on to my midwife! All for the baby's health. Best wishes!
