In the MMM and looking for another job

Hi ladies,

We've been doing the MMM for a while now. We just had our first IVF attempt, which unfortunately didn't work out.
Now I'm in a conflict of interest with my employer and really want to leave.
So I'm actively applying for jobs.
My question: If I get invited for an interview, should I immediately say that we're doing the MMM?
We often have to go to the hospital and stuff...

What would you do?

I’d only mention that during the second interview. Or maybe not at all. You’re not pregnant yet, and in principle, your future employer has no business with your hospital appointments.
But there’s naturally a caveat. Can you schedule the appointments as much as possible outside your working hours? Is it a full-time or part-time job?
With my first job, I was in the MVA scheme while working, but I had a flexible part-time contract, so I could pretty much plan things around my work or swap shifts with colleagues. My employer didn’t really have any “inconvenience” from it.
If that’s not possible for you, I’d only bring it up in the second interview. If you’re still rejected afterward, at least you’ll know why. Even though (future) pregnancy discrimination is illegal, I’m afraid that if you don’t get a callback after the first interview, it might be because they have multiple candidates.

    Thank you so much, Falca.
I hear from people around me that pregnancy discrimination still happens... unfortunately.

I work full-time, but I'll try to schedule appointments as much as possible outside of working hours. I'm already doing that, and it's going pretty well.
Fortunately, our hospital is very accommodating and sometimes willing to deviate from the standard times.
