Factor V Leiden

Good morning ladies,

After 3 miscarriages, we did some tests. It came out that I am a carrier of Factor V Leiden.

Now I'm pregnant again and I've been given medication and have to inject myself daily in my belly.

Are there any other ladies who have experience with this?

I hope that with this I can bring the pregnancy to a successful end.

On October 15th we have our first ultrasound. Very exciting.

Hi Dani! What exactly is that, if I may ask?

    Merel here's an explanation

    Pregnancy and risks
    Pregnancy
Pregnancy is not always straightforward when you are a carrier of the Factor V Leiden gene. Sometimes it can be difficult to conceive spontaneously and to carry the pregnancy through without complications. There may be increased risks for both the mother and the unborn child. Smoking before or during pregnancy significantly increases these risks.

    Complications

    Infertility

    Miscarriage

    Preterm birth

    Placental abruption

    Pregnancy-induced hypertension / Pre-eclampsia

    Growth restriction

    Deep Vein Thrombosis

    Pulmonary embolism
