Can this really be done?

Hi everyone,

I have a question I'd love an answer to. Wondering if anyone else has experienced what I'm feeling.

I've been off the pill for 2 months now and have had severe lower back pain and stabbing pains in my stomach for the past two weeks. It feels like my period is about to start (I usually only get this a few days before, not for 2 weeks straight).

I've just felt really awful for two weeks now, like something is wrong with my body.

I did have unprotected sex during my ovulation, so I think there's a chance I might be pregnant. My period is due next Sunday, so I won't be able to test until then.

But my question is... is it possible that I'm feeling the conception and implantation so intensely? Who else has felt this and turned out to be pregnant?

Or am I just fooling myself and is my body just adjusting to being off the pill or something...

    Hi,

I stopped the pill at the end of July and also had stabbing pains in my stomach (especially in the groin) and back pain after that.
This doesn't have to mean anything, because I actually got my period last Saturday (luckily I found out yesterday). Your body can play tricks on you. A lot of people here have already told me that because I thought I was pregnant and didn't really want to believe that your body could do that. ... well, haha.

I'll just wait for your period and if you really think you're pregnant, test 2 days before your expected period with an early test.
Hope I helped you a bit and hope your body doesn't play tricks on you as much as mine did, haha.

oooh and it could definitely also be a miscarriage!

    Thanks for your quick reply!
Yeah, I’m so scared that I’m basically fooling myself.. and imagining things.. but I really feel them. I’m also really tired, suddenly got a sort of bladder infection, bloated belly, just not feeling right in my skin, etc etc.
And the month before, so the month after stopping, I literally had no issues at all, so I don’t understand why my body is reacting so strongly all of a sudden now.
Well, I guess I just have to wait and see... sigh.
But I was hoping to hear something positive here, like it’s totally possible & I’m not crazy.

I really had all that too and was going crazy. You're not crazy, it can happen, but unfortunately that wasn't the case for me.. you only know for sure with a test unfortunately. Waiting is really super long now! I found it really terrible you're only busy with it and because of that you only make yourself crazier... very irritating haha. It helps that many more women here feel and experience the same thing.

Yeah, waiting feels like it takes way too long.
I think I'll really just wait until the actual day, because I'm afraid that if I do it earlier, I might not have developed enough yet. And then I'd still be stressed for days. Pffff..
It's really tough for you that it didn't work out for you.. how long have you been trying, if I may ask?
I'm already noticing that I'm so caught up in it now. I'm afraid it's going to get worse each month, and every little pain or twinge makes me think it's happening.

Augustus was the first month, so I’ve just started!
I actually didn’t find it unpleasant at all to be TTC now that I know a bit about my new cycle.
Just stopped TTC, so we can go all out again hahaha. Hope it works out now, and if not, we’ll just keep going! I’ve already told myself that it might take a year, so hopefully I won’t get too disappointed.

Oh, well, at least that's good! Hahaha. Yeah, we're just going to do the same if it doesn't work out.
I forgot when I got my period in the first month, so I still need to figure out exactly how my cycle really is. I guess it's around 28 days, I'll see next Sunday.
But I'm also telling myself it might take a while, and that's totally fine. But I do catch myself secretly hoping so much... and I've already got scenarios in my head about how everything will go and how I'll tell everyone etc.. inch: So silly. Haha
Anyway, I'll just wait it out. Haha

Haha yeah, I do that too. I've already got it all figured out in my head how I'm going to tell people, how it's going to go at work, and all that stuff.

It could actually be either: your body might be coming off the pill, but it could also be that you're just feeling really good.

I stopped taking the pill on April 1st, and by June I clearly felt my ovulation. After that, from around 8 DPO onwards, I clearly felt all sorts of things I didn't usually feel, and I was sometimes suddenly nauseous or dizzy... and it turned out I was really pregnant. I'm now 14 weeks along. If your period is due on Saturday or Sunday, you could already test with an early test now!

    Good luck in advance!

I just took a Clearblue pregnancy test, and I'm not pregnant. But I didn't use first-morning urine (being a bit cheeky). Could my hcg still be too low? I'm supposed to get my period on Sunday.
  11. NewGirl #12

The best is morning urine because it has the most hcg in it, especially if you test earlier, that's quite handy hahaha. And I don't know if you've drunk a lot, but that makes it harder to measure your hcg value (I read that somewhere).

Otherwise, I'll do another test on Sunday with morning urine, then you'll know for sure.

    Good luck!

I felt the ovulation, but it was different than usual—the pain didn't last half a day, just half a minute: likely conception.
5 days later, huge cramps on one side of the belly and lower back pain, which I've never had before (implantation, I think, lasted about an hour or so).
After that, no normal "almost period" symptoms that usually start soon after ovulation, and from implantation onwards, I've had waves of nausea and lots of pimples.

So you can really feel it, but regarding implantation, I didn't know what that was when it happened, so many people don't notice it or what they feel is something else.

Hopefully, it's a success and you haven't produced much hcg yet! You can get a cheap early pregnancy test, with morning urine, indeed.

Thank you for your reply, Tooby.
It all sounds very logical to you.

I literally had stabbing pains in my belly and lower back pain exactly the day after ovulation, which lasted for a full 2 weeks. And I mean it was really painful, to the point where I sometimes didn't know how to sit. So I'm worried.

I'm going to test with first morning urine tomorrow and hopefully it's a hit. And if not, I'll go to the doctor on Monday.
Because then I wonder how this could be so intense.
  14. Tooby #15

Hmm, the day after ovulation, that wouldn't be pregnancy-related, I think. Hopefully it's nothing serious, otherwise do pop in to see your GP.

I see a line. Carefully congrats, girl. Test every 2 days.

    Thanks!
Yes, I'll go tomorrow morning with the morning pee.
    And then every two days.
    So super exciting

Honestly, I don't see anything... but it's always a bit trickier in photos.
