You can't see the "nub" on either photo.. so hard to say.. based on the nub, the doctor told me it was 70% a boy.. it turned out to be a girl.. I abandoned that theory back then.. pure guesswork where you have a 50% chance of guessing right.. hahahaha
I think it's pretty well known that the nub has a 50-60% accuracy rate this early on. The further along you are, the higher the accuracy of the nub theory.
It's just fun to do, well.. even with an ultrasound they can get it wrong haha.
Yeah, that's right!!! I don't even think about it.. I just keep wondering how that's possible.. from 16 weeks on, they checked again at every ultrasound, and you'd think that would make it impossible.. then they would have missed it at 20, at 28, and at 35.. bizarre... I had it confirmed again at every ultrasound hahahahha
Yeah, sounds pretty bizarre to me too, haha. For me, it wouldn't really matter though. It's a nice surprise, but I'd find it weird.
Hmm, yeah, I don't know how they could miss it. Maybe not everyone checks for the gender? I thought I read that they aren't required to check the gender during the ultrasound. Maybe in such cases, the gender is determined once at the earliest opportunity and then not checked again?
If everything’s fine, they have to check everything at the 20-week scan anyway.. and at 28 and 35 weeks I don’t know, but they checked everything again for me too.. all fingers, toes, heart, belly, kidneys etc.. but I don’t know if that’s standard.. I really wanted a girl and couldn’t believe it was actually a girl.. I thought for a long time, that can’t be, I’m getting what I wanted so badly, must be a trick from God or something.. so I really asked for every scan.. is it really a girl? At 28 weeks I got a frontal view of her pacifier, then it was very very clear hahahahahaha I’m not saying I wouldn’t have been happy with a boy.. (I thought myself it was going to be a boy despite my little wish for a girl? Self-protection?? And I already bought a blue Maxi-Cosi at 12 weeks.. hahahahaha) but I would have had to get used to the idea if it really was a boy, then I would have had to process a very very tiny disappointment.. now with number 2 it really doesn’t matter to me.. I’d even like not to know hahahahaha
We had our 12-week ultrasound and don't want to do a gender ultrasound in the meantime (purely because of the cost). Of course, we're curious and speculating about the gender using the nub theory. I'm curious, what do you think?
