1st trimester
thickened nuchal fold
bibiGuest ·
Hi everyone,
I'm currently 12 weeks pregnant with my second baby and had my second ultrasound today. Everything looked really good until the midwife started measuring the nuchal fold. It was 3 mm (she measured it twice: first 2.8 mm, then 3 mm). The midwife said I don't need to worry too much right away and should wait for the NIPT results. She did mention it was borderline—up to 3 mm is still considered 'normal', but above that there's a risk of chromosomal abnormalities. Naturally, I'm really worried about this now! I have to wait two weeks for the test results, and since I'm naturally prone to worrying, I know these two weeks are going to feel incredibly long. I just can't stop thinking about it or let it go (my husband, on the other hand, is convinced everything will be fine). I've also read a lot of conflicting information online. Are there any other members here who have experienced this and would like to share their stories?
Thanks in advance,
Best wishes
