Dear fellow moms-to-be,
This is my first post. I’m now 11 weeks pregnant, and from what I’ve heard so far, my 5kg gain is already on the high side. Before pregnancy, I had a normal weight. Has anyone of you experienced something similar? Would you recommend seeing a dietitian? I saw www.mamachannel.nl come up with recipes and stuff like that? Did anyone find it helpful? I’d love to hear from you!
Love, :-)

    Good morning!

I'm also really curious if anyone here has an answer to that. I'm exactly double your situation. 22 weeks and gained 10 kilos. It's making me almost depressed, which probably isn't good either. And yes, it really comes down to eating and drinking wrong. Went on vacation last week, whoops! 3 kilos added.

    Hope someone has some tips.

I also gained quite a bit at first, but it ended up being around 10 to 12 kilos in total. So gaining 5 kilos early on doesn't mean much.

I also gained 5 kg in the first 9 weeks because I was so nauseous and could only keep down Chocomel and bad (read: sugary and easy-to-digest) products. I also moved very little because of the nausea. Then, just like you, I started to worry. However, when the nausea went away and I could go outside again, my weight stayed the same for a long time. At 20 weeks, I had gained 6 kg, and now at 27 weeks, it's 9 kg. So it also depends on movement and indeed your diet... And the baby sometimes has a growth spurt! But it doesn't mean everything that you gained a lot in the beginning, especially if you can't move or eat poorly due to circumstances. Just keep an eye on that, and if you're already doing that, you might just gain a bit more than someone else... We all differ in that anyway!
