Echo 7 weeks

Hi everyone,
I’ve already scheduled my first ultrasound at 7 weeks. Now I’m wondering if I should postpone it by a week.. Is there even anything to see at 7 weeks? Who has experience with this?
Greetings, Suzanne

Hi! I had an ultrasound at eight weeks, and I have to say it already looked really nice. You could clearly see a little baby! So I think it should definitely work at seven weeks too!

Yes, definitely the little embryo, the gestational sac, and a little beating heart. Of course, a week later there's a bit more to see; at week 8, the embryo doesn't just look like a black spot anymore but is starting to take shape.

At our place, the midwife usually does an ultrasound at 7 weeks as standard.

    Ooooh that's good to hear!
I heard that it's possible you don't see/hear anything at 7 weeks.. But then I don't need to worry :-)

At 6 weeks, that's when it happens, and you do have a chance that the heartbeat isn't visible yet, but by 7 weeks, you should definitely see something. Listening to the heartbeat usually only happens after 12 weeks because before that, the heartbeat often can't be detected. Good luck anyway
