Hi!

Tomorrow I have my 12-week ultrasound, and after the NIPT, I can hopefully announce that we're pregnant with baby #2.

I gave birth to a little girl last year, and this came after 7 full rounds of ICSI...

We had one frozen embryo left and had it transferred in November, and we're pregnant with it!

We're overjoyed that we can give our daughter a brother or a sister.

We let my dad drop hints that a lot is going to change for us (we're also moving at the end of May) and that we might have some more news too.

His reaction: "Well, that's not certain yet" (but not enthusiastic), more like it would be an extra burden...

I looked at him and said, "So you wouldn't be happy with a second grandchild?"

His reaction: "That's your problem."

I nearly fell over...

When we announced our first pregnancy, everyone was overenthusiastic that it had finally worked out.

Obviously, no one cares anymore whether you're going for a second.

I was thinking of sending the rest of the family a nice announcement, but now I'm thinking of doing nothing...

What do you all think about that?

Hmm, I can't imagine a grandpa or grandma not being overjoyed with a grandchild... whether it's the first or the tenth. I can see them worrying though, since it's quite a tough process for you guys. Ultimately, what matters is whether YOU are happy with it, and the opinions of others are less relevant. I think if you send out a nice announcement, most people will be really happy for you!
