Fallen

Laura
Hi everyone,
I'm now 14 weeks pregnant. This afternoon I slipped on the snow and fell on my butt/hip. I could feel the thud all the way through my belly.
Could this be harmful, or is it only dangerous if you fall on your stomach?

That's so awful that you slipped, I totally get why you're worried. If I were you, I'd call your midwife as soon as possible—they'll definitely know more about this. Better safe than sorry, maybe they can do a quick scan to check if everything's okay.

Yeah, I didn't actually call because everyone said it couldn't hurt and that it protects your baby so well. Now I can't call anymore unless it's an emergency, but I don't want to seem overly cautious

Always call for peace of mind! Here's a good story too: at 16 weeks I ran to a point in bed and then the midwife said the baby was still really deep in the pelvis at that stage. Luckily, you're only 14 weeks, so to speak. But don't worry too much either!
When do you have your next check-up?

Not until 2 weeks from now.
Then it’s indeed nice that I’m 14 weeks along.

Hi Laura, was just curious how you're doing? Did you end up getting an extra check-up?

    Hi!
Sorry I only just saw your reply. It's going well. Luckily, nothing was left behind. Two days later I had an ultrasound for gender determination. They already had a clear view then, so we could see that everything was fine.
    Now 26 weeks pregnant

That's great to hear that everything is going well. 26 weeks, that's coming up nicely
