Enorme bandenpijn

I'm only 7 weeks pregnant, but I'm having such incredible round ligament pain, as the midwife calls it. I can't even walk normally and have to lie down for a bit. Well, a bit... I'm on the couch with a hot water bottle all day. I have it almost all the time. I really don't want to be a drama queen, but this makes me feel so awful. Are there any other expectant moms who have this, or am I the only one who has it this badly this early?

    Hey Danielle,
I'm experiencing the same thing, quite early on, and since the day before yesterday I can't find any comfortable position anymore... I'm lying down a lot. I also went to a physiotherapist, and he told me that I have pelvic instability and hypermobility syndrome.
It's not faking it. I really do have a lot of pain.
    Greetings, Stef

@stef just had another huge attack. Couldn't find the right position anymore. Intense, stabbing, awful pain again. This is making me doubt myself so much again I just can't go anywhere like this.

Wavering? Are you afraid something might go wrong? I was too... but it's really not menstrual pain. For me, it's a pressing sensation at the bottom of my back that radiates to my upper thigh and buttock... then I get sharp stabs on the slightest movement on the side of my belly. How do you experience this pain? Sometimes it goes right through my bones Have you had an ultrasound yet?

@stef. I've got it again now. It really pulls from under my navel, going inward toward the vagina. It's a painful, pressing sensation with waves. My lower back is starting to hurt too, but much less. It's not comparable to period pain, indeed. Then I go to the toilet because it sometimes feels like you really need to go, but that's not the case. The more I fold myself in half, the worse it gets.

Haven't had the ultrasound yet. In a week and a half.

Double-sided pain doesn't sound normal. Could it be an ectopic pregnancy? I'd definitely give them a call! Not to panic, of course.

You can have serious pain, but double kicks and not finding a comfortable position—I don’t think that’s what this forum is for. You should really talk to someone who knows about this, okay?
Hopefully it’s not what I sent, but sometimes you need to rule things out, I think!

@hartje that's what I already told the midwife, but after talking about several symptoms, she said this is round ligament pain..
  9. Hartje #10

I still find it really painful, but every body is different, of course... But if it is like that, then waiting 1.5 weeks for an ultrasound seems way too long..
Do you also doubt if it's really labor? On another forum, someone was posting today with pain (at 30 weeks pregnant) who simply had a bladder infection.
So I say that up to a certain point we can endure a lot, we're nauseous and so on for the baby, but sometimes it's better to consult someone. At least your GP. Being pregnant should remain enjoyable, right? With so much pain, it doesn't seem like fun to me, and you're not even in labor yet
What's your feeling about the whole situation? Do you think I'm panicking too much?
Really hope it gets better soon for you!

Stef, your pain sounds really like pelvic pain, Danielle's pain is described differently, don't you think?
  10. Stef #11

Yes indeed, that's why I asked if she'd already had an ultrasound...
I also had a baby (bbz) but I already knew at 5 weeks and I doubled over from the pain! But you're 7 weeks, seems late for a bbz... well, just my experience!
It's indeed important to get it checked out because it can be life-threatening.
Are you having regular bowel movements? Maybe constipation?
But yeah, I don't want to play doctor... maybe call your GP or gynecologist tomorrow. If it becomes unbearable today, go to the ER tonight... I'm worried it might be a bbz... I went through it and literally thought I was dying.
I hope for the best, Danielle.
Keep us updated? Think of you.

Yes, I will. I'm going to call again tomorrow and hope I get to have an interview! I'll let you know.
  12. Hartje #13

Well, I'm curious indeed! Hopefully it's nothing serious.
Stef, my sister had it at 8 weeks, so it's possible. But she really wasn't doing well, no, it hurt!
So Danielle, if you experience severe pain, bleeding, or other symptoms of a possible miscarriage, grab the phone right away!
  13. Danielle Guest #14

Thank you. I have to be honest and say that I don't have it constantly, and when I walk (to the supermarket, for example), it goes away. No bleeding. No fainting moments. As I read online. I'm extremely worried and hope that this is very harmless. I'll call first thing tomorrow! And hope I can come in earlier for the ultrasound..
  14. Hartje #15

That saves some already. Hope you sleep well tonight, good luck tomorrow!
  15. Stef #16

Hi Danielle, how are you? Did you manage to get a restful night's sleep?
    Take care,
  16. Hartje #17

You're keeping us in suspense! I hope the message isn't good news!

    @stef @ hartje

Thank god... no UTI!! He actually thought it might be a bladder infection at one point. But that wasn't it either. Based on the tests, nothing points to that, so I can go to the ultrasound later with a relieved heart. The severe pain is probably due to hormones. He explained that some women suffer much more from it than others. The intense pain likely comes from a buildup of hormones because the body has to manage so much. It's always nerve-wracking during the first trimester, but I'm feeling much more at ease now.

Oooooh that's great, Danielle, I'm so happy!
But haven't they done an ultrasound yet? Have you been to your GP?
    Greetings
  19. Danielle Guest #20

Yes, GP yes! In a week and a half we have an ultrasound. I'm curious.
