Announcing the pregnancy

Hi everyone. There’s probably already a thread about this, but here’s a new one! How did you (or are you planning to) let family and friends know that you’re expecting? We’ve known since this weekend that we’re about 4 weeks along with our first baby, so it’s super exciting! We want to wait until the first ultrasound to tell the future grandparents/aunts/uncles. Anyone got any original ideas?

Tried to send a photo but it didn't work. We threw a party for our birthdays and had a huge photo of our dog on the wall with a chalkboard around her neck that said “baby guard dog duty starts december 2017”. I didn’t want a big reveal moment, too much attention haha, so every guest who came in saw it hanging and it was really nice. Our parents and siblings came an hour early to “help set up” haha, so they saw it first.

I made a "sleepover bag" for my mom for the first one. So a toiletry bag with a few diapers, a burp cloth, a pacifier, a brush, and pajamas. With the text on it: When I'm older, can I come over to sleep over?
For my in-laws, I made a little photo book of the winter sports trip with on the last page the photo of the test and the first ultrasound with the text: When I'm older, can I come to the snow too?
For my best friends, I wrote a job ad text (because he was looking for a new job then) Something along the lines of "experienced babysitter wanted due to expansion of duties" and then as "salary" added: cozy evenings with us, wine, etc. He first read it very seriously and then suddenly got it.
For the siblings, I made a little box (at Easter) with a pink and a blue chocolate egg inside and a little chick. On the lid, I had pasted the ultrasound photo with the text Our "egg" hatches on October 27.

That's so lovely!! The diaper bag is really a great idea. I'll keep that in mind!!!
