Wait or keep testing until the first ultrasound

Hi everyone,
I've finally registered. Today I made an appointment with the midwife. I'm now 6 weeks pregnant with our first.
We're keeping it quiet for now for the people around us. *our little secret*
I'll get my first ultrasound at 9 weeks to check if everything is going well. Still, I'm worried something might go wrong..
3 weeks to wait, phew.
How did you get through it? Did you also test at home until then?
Now and then I feel sharp pains in my lower belly. Hopefully this can be explained by the growth of my uterus.
Also, I've been coughing quite deeply lately, could this be harmful to the little one?
I'd love to hear how you fill in this waiting period and whether the coughing could be harmful.

Just do your own thing and go to bed on time. Nine months is a long time, but it also went by quickly. Stomach pain is normal (stretching of your ligaments), you might occasionally lose some old (brown) blood and maybe a drop of red blood. I had that a few times and it was quite a shock. Looking back, it was due to sex; everything down there is just changing, and then a little vein bursts. We still had sex, just being a bit careful. If you pull back too much or worry too much now, pregnancy feels super long! Just do what you did when you weren't pregnant, with the logical exceptions (eating, drinking, resting, not lifting heavy things, etc.)! Trust your body, sweetheart!

    Thanks for the replies!
It’s nice to hear that the tension and uncertainty are also felt by others.
@chantal: sad about the 2 miscarriages, were you still in the 1st trimester?
@kimmie1989: intense, I hope really hard for you that everything is healthy now! At how many weeks do you get the ultrasound?
I’m still doing everything I was doing before. I even still ride horses. As long as it feels good.

What do you all think about coughing (worst coughing fits) during early pregnancy. Can that be harmful? I’m quite worried about that.

Thank you, S1986. We have our first ultrasound on 11/20, so I'll be 9 weeks then.
When I was pregnant with my son, I kept horseback riding until 7 months. After that, it just really wasn't possible anymore. You can feel it yourself, right!

S1986 yes, my first miscarriage was at 9 weeks and the second one already at 4.5 weeks, so about where I am now.
The first miscarriage was much more intense than the second one, but it's exciting again now. You naturally feel everything, of course!
And that makes you kind of anxious.
I don't think coughing can do any harm, really.

Coughing can't do any harm, you know, except when it's extreme. So heavy lifting, sports, sex, stress, etc.!
