Pregnant after a miscarriage, feeling unsure

Hey everyone!
I'm really nervous and just need to get this off my chest.
I already have 2 kids, aged 3 and 22 months. My pregnancies went very well, never had any problems. But then I was pregnant with the 3rd. I did a test, went to the doctor and she said I was pregnant but very early, even though I was already 2 weeks late, so I had to get another blood test to see if the hCG was rising enough. That was the case, so I was reassured, probably a late ovulation. At 8 weeks I had to have an ultrasound and it came as a shock, I was soooo nauseous and my belly was already bigger (even though I was only 8 weeks, the gyn said it's because of 3 kids one after another and then everything stretches faster) I felt really super pregnant! On the ultrasound, nothing, absolutely nothing to see! I had amniotic fluid, a placenta, everything that was needed, my uterus was the size of 8 weeks but there was no fetus in it and my body just carried on as if nothing. I've never felt so bad and even like a failure, I mean, pregnant with nothing, how terrible can it be! I had to have everything removed and then I felt better little by little but I still really want a 3rd child. And the gyn said you've already shown twice that it works, it will work again.
Now pregnant again, I'm super insecure. This time the hCG level was normal but still, I called for an appointment with the gyn but she can only see me when I'm 8 weeks, not earlier because otherwise they won't see the heart yet. (I'm about 5.5 weeks now). But waiting more than 2 weeks is really super long when you're this insecure! So he said I need to get blood drawn again tomorrow to see if it has risen enough. But yeah, that was also the case last time. So I just keep anxiously waiting!

Thanks for letting me share my story!

Oh yeah, what I forgot to mention is that I'm not feeling nauseous at all right now? So it doesn't seem like a good sign because I was super nauseous from day 1 in the previous 3 times.

    Hi Nalily,
That's tough, that uncertainty I know it well and can't really help you with that either, because it just remains stressful.
I'm currently pregnant for the 3rd time myself. The first time, at 8 weeks, I had an empty gestational sac even though I was indeed sick, so I really understand how you feel. The second time, at 5 weeks, I had an early miscarriage that did start on its own. Now, with the 3rd attempt, I'm almost 14 weeks pregnant, so this time it seems to be going well.

As for the nausea, I might be able to reassure you a bit. With my previous two pregnancies, I was nauseous from the start, and both ended badly. This time, I only started feeling nauseous at 6 weeks and even had some bleeding, but it's actually going well.
Every pregnancy is different, so try not to worry too much based on whether or not you have certain symptoms!

Strength while waiting, girl. Hope everything stays okay for you.

Hi! I had my blood drawn again, and the doctor said it had risen quite a bit. Everything seems okay. Just waiting for the ultrasound for more certainty
That's great that it's finally okay for you! I assume it's your first baby?

Hi Nalily, I totally relate to your insecurity! I had a D&C in July after the 11-week scan showed that the heartbeat had stopped, probably around 9 weeks. Now I'm pregnant again... I have a good feeling about this pregnancy, but the miscarriage from last time still lingers in the back of my mind.

Looking back, my symptoms were almost gone by the time I went to that scan. I wasn't aware of anything wrong myself, thought it was normal around 11-12 weeks. I woke up this morning feeling completely fine, no nausea at all. I was already half in panic...

I'm trying to tell myself multiple times that I really need to let go. If it's not going to work out, it won't, no matter how sad and unfortunate that is. You can't really do much about it yourself, and you shouldn't blame yourself if it goes wrong. Besides, the chances are much higher that everything will go well than the other way around.

I hope you have a good, calm pregnancy this time and can hold your third little miracle in your arms next year!
