Experience with low-dose aspirin, 11 weeks pregnant

Hi everyone!

I'm a little over 11 weeks pregnant today. I had a good scan at 10w6d on Wednesday. Everything is on track! So that's really nice, and I feel a bit more at ease now :-)

I already have one son, and back then I had a lot of pregnancy ailments like sore breasts.

Because of 3 miscarriages before (also at 10 weeks), I now have to take progesterone Utrogestan and low-dose aspirin. I know the side effects of Utrogestan. I know a bit less about low-dose aspirin. Does anyone have experience with it?

My breasts seem much less sore this pregnancy, but they are quite large. Could that be due to the low-dose aspirin?

Best wishes and thanks in advance for your replies!

Hi, I can't say much about taking low-dose aspirin during pregnancy myself (no experience with it either), but from a professional standpoint, I can tell you that low-dose aspirin is a blood thinner also taken by non-pregnant people (by the way, one of the most common blood thinners). The most well-known side effect is stomach issues. Since low-dose aspirin is quite low-dosed, it's possible you won't have any trouble with it at all.
So I'd guess that the symptoms you're listing are more likely hormonal.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes well and that you'll have a healthy little one in the end.

    Warm regards!

    Hi!
I just came across this forum.
A few years ago, due to some medical reasons, I had to take aspirin cardio, better known as Ascal, and also during my pregnancies. I didn’t have any issues or complaints, except for the implantation bleeding which lasted for 6 weeks. You’ve probably already experienced that by now, and you don’t necessarily have to have it. What you might experience because of blood-thinning medication is itching, since it flows a bit faster. I only had this during my second pregnancy, but my internist explained it to me when I told her about the severe itching.

    Enjoy your pregnancy.

    Best, Irene
