Pregnancy symptoms

Hi everyone,

I'm almost 8 weeks pregnant and absolutely over the moon, since we really wanted a baby. Of course, I'm a bit nervous that something might go wrong, but right now I'm really hoping for the best.

But wow, was I wrong about the "pink cloud" of being pregnant! I had no idea you could feel so awful when you're pregnant :-o

I'm sleeping terribly, can't focus on my job during the day (really not fun!), get cramps in my hands at night, am vomiting (and yet constantly hungry)... I just feel so terrible that I sometimes start crying at home. My colleagues don't know I'm pregnant yet (only my boss does), but I'm struggling to hide it. My family doesn't know either, so it's sometimes hard not being able to talk about the pregnancy.

Do you guys feel this bad too?

Love, An

I can totally understand how you feel. I didn't get too excited about the 'pink cloud' either, so it couldn't really disappoint
I've been nauseous a lot too, and up until now my appetite is just gone.
My best friend just gave birth, but she made very different choices about telling people about the pregnancy (waited until after 12 weeks, didn't even know they were trying) than I would have. I had a lot of trouble with that, I had hoped to talk and share a lot with her, because I've always been very open about wanting kids.
Had the first scan at 7 weeks and told the parents then. Until that time I felt left to my own devices and only had the lovely ladies on this forum.
Told the siblings at week 8, and now at least it's not awkward within the family anymore. I'm getting a lot of support. At week 11, next Monday, the first dating scan, and if that's okay, the rest of the world can know because I can hardly keep it to myself anymore.
You'd most like to give your little secret a place in peace and happiness, but your body goes its own way during a pregnancy. They say the ailments decrease towards the second trimester. Hope that's true for you too. Enjoyment will definitely come, for now just hang in there

My best friend told me at the fourth month. She thought everyone could already see it. Then it turned out I could look right through it. But yeah, it doesn't show until the twenty weeks. I understand you find that exciting. Let's first see how it goes with you. Maybe you'll feel less nauseous.
