Hi, I'm 25 weeks pregnant now. Just got back from leave and finished my first week of work. Tomorrow is Friday, so I still have to work and then the weekend. But tomorrow evening we have a staff party. We'd have to sit in a bus for 3 hours to get there and back. We wouldn't be back until around 3 am. I'm not looking forward to that, do you think I can cancel it tomorrow? The following Friday we also have team building, which I want to cancel too. Since I find work and taking care of our family already heavy enough. What do you think? Or am I just being inconsiderate?

I personally don't think it's rude if you really don't feel like it. 3 hours on a bus, without a toilet? That's no joke for a pregnant woman.
But maybe something is possible if you think of solutions? Like a colleague who would like to carpool and doesn't want to stay so long?

I wouldn’t go along with that. Work is work—I love my job, but work will never put your interests above business interests. So you shouldn’t put work above your own well-being either. At least, that’s what I do
