8 weeks pregnant and symptoms are fading

Hi mums,

I'm 8 weeks and 3 days pregnant with our second child. Our first son is now 22 months old.

However, I've also had 3 miscarriages at 8, 9, and 10 weeks. So I've become very anxious... These miscarriages were preceded by a disappearance of symptoms and ultrasounds showing growth retardation (i.e., not by bleeding or cramps).

My tender breasts have been gone since 7 weeks and 3 days. The nausea stopped at 8 weeks, and that typical feeling of being about to get my period has also disappeared. I did have a good ultrasound at 8 weeks, though, with a beating heart and correct measurements...

What do you think? Has anyone experienced symptoms disappearing around 8 weeks? Is this a bad sign or is it normal?

Oh yes... my gynecologist prescribed Utrogestan, low-dose aspirin, and thyroid hormone due to recurrent miscarriages... Has anyone had experience with these?

Thanks in advance for your replies,

Best wishes!

    Hi Sev,

I understand your concern, especially since you've already had three miscarriages. On its own, it doesn't necessarily mean anything if your symptoms lessen. Can't you ask your midwife/gynecologist for an ultrasound? Maybe that would ease your worries a bit.

    Love,

    Hey Debbie,
Thanks for your sweet message. I can go for an ultrasound next week. But as you know, a week feels really long when you're worried about something ;-)
So I'll have to keep my patience for a bit longer!

    Kind regards,

Just letting people who read this later know... had an ultrasound today, and everything looked great! The measurements of the little fetus were correct, the heartbeat was there. A tiny moving little thing at over 9 weeks!
    Greetings,
    Sev

Sev, lots of luck! Your anxiety is totally understandable. Luckily, everything is fine! Enjoy your little one in your belly. Hopefully, he'll make himself known early on, so he can reassure mom himself.
