6 weeks and bleeding

Hi ladies. I'm 6 weeks pregnant today. When I went to shower and used my finger to clean inside my vagina, I lost some brown and red blood, along with some tissue... Has anyone experienced this? Or should I assume it's a miscarriage?

    Hi Marieke,

Hard to put into words... I think I had something like that at around 9 weeks after washing, but it was just a small wound from my nail...
I'm afraid to wait and see for now, but no cramps would be a good sign, right???

That's so sad for Marieke. You could maybe call your midwife this week to see if you can get an early ultrasound. At 6/7 weeks, they should be able to see a little embryo.

    You're welcome!
    And good luck!

Have you already been in touch with your midwife, Marieke? If you're experiencing bleeding, especially if it's bright red, it's best to call your midwife right away.

I can only visit the GP for the first time at 8 weeks, so we'll just have to wait and see. No heavy bleeding since then, so hopefully nothing serious. Thanks, ladies!!

Hi hi.. I'm 7 weeks pregnant now and lost a lot of blood a few days ago. It came out in little streams. I also passed 3 big clots as big as an egg. Had an ultrasound yesterday and the little heart is still beating!! The midwife didn't expect this. If the bleeding continues, I'd really ask if I could get an ultrasound sooner. Take care.

Wow, Sisi, that's intense! But it's so nice that your little one is still safe with you. Maybe it was a twin pregnancy at first? Are you getting more check-ups in the coming weeks?

Marieke, do you have an ultrasound this week?

I’ve had an ultrasound in the meantime and everything is okay. I’m a bit panicked because I once had a miscarriage at 11 weeks. But Sisi, that’s intense! Could it be true what Jenny says, that you lost one of a twin?
