Hormones?

Hey! In 2 days I'll be in my third trimester and I feel like a little devil..
Everything irritates me, if my husband breathes too loudly I get angry and then I feel
so guilty that I burst into tears and 1 hour later I'm lying flat on my back laughing!
I'm going completely crazy with myself, I don't want to know what the people around
me think of me haha! Does this happen to everyone or am I just weird?

Dayday!

I know that one... I had exactly the same with both pregnancies. I could really be on a warpath, ready to argue. I had even more trouble with it than during my teenage years. It's part of it and there's little you can do about it. Maybe count to 100 more often (because 10 really doesn't work) .

    Hey,

Same here! My husband already told me he's ruling out a 3rd kid (this will be our 2nd) because he can't handle another pregnancy like this. I get angry at the slightest thing and start crying at random times.
Lots of things irritate me endlessly, everyone seems to be doing something wrong.
    Blessed are those hormones...

Ugh, I just wrote this somewhere else..
But so relatable;-) this is the 3rd pregnancy and I'm 12 weeks but it's starting again...sometimes nothing is good and I get irritated by every little thing..
Just now while doing DIY (painting) around the house... But my husband already said sure Cin you're right...you do need someone to take it out on... Bring it on I can handle it haha sweetheart...he recognizes it from the previous times and I think he has something like that too oh yeah here we go again hihi
They don't have it easy either do they..
Then it's over quickly again but pfff...

You know what, they chose another little miracle too, right? A few mood swings is all they have to put up with! Hihi...

Ah, so relatable. We're expecting our 2nd but my husband says this time it's really extreme. I feel the same, like I've been taken over by an alien or something, I can't keep my emotions in check. I also have to say that the postpartum period wasn't exactly the coziest either.

I also notice the influence of hormones, but in the opposite direction. When I have my cycle, I’m so grumpy right before my period that I’m about to explode. When I don’t have a cycle due to pregnancy or breastfeeding, I’m o.h.a. much more balanced – except during the first trimester (tired and nauseous) and the postpartum period (going from very high progesterone/estrogen to almost nothing all at once). I hope my cycle stays away for a whole year again with baby #2 thanks to breastfeeding, I’ll sign up for that, haha!

I never had that myself, I actually had the opposite. I felt extra happy and just so happy, people even said I was glowing! And that was true, I felt so happy. My partner really spoiled me during my pregnancies, that was quite cute. I guess the hormones just stayed away for me, because I heard about it more from other women.

Hormones don't just disappear – your progesterone levels actually skyrocket – but the thing is, you have fewer hormone fluctuations than in your regular cycle. Until birth, that is. Afterward, everything crashes suddenly, which is also the main cause of postpartum tears.

Another one here! My husband sometimes asks when I'm getting my wife back again haha. I can really be on a warpath. Especially on weekends. Then I have less time for myself to catch my breath and calm myself down. During my cycle, I also suffer from it, extremely grumpy, nobody can do anything right. Poor kids. My sweet husband just has to deal with it I'm already dreading the postpartum tears pfff hahaha. With the oldest, I had quite a bit of it too. Hours I could scream for no reason. Then I was really completely over the moon.

Edit oh dear, a year without a cycle due to breastfeeding! That sounds like quite a bit too.

W.B. cycle staying away due to breastfeeding: it varies from person to person how well this works, but it definitely helps a lot if you keep breastfeeding at night (even if it's just once). Prolactin, the hormone that makes you produce milk and also 'paralyzes' your ovaries, is produced more at night when your baby suckles (also during the day, but to a lesser extent). I'm now aiming for at least a year again, haha

It might be that your husband starts complaining because you have so little interest in sex At least, that interest was completely missing here when I was feeding on demand, and that was mainly due to a lack of the 'normal' sex hormones progesterone and estrogen. That's something I didn't have any trouble with during pregnancy, LOL

I also had BV, and with my first baby, my period didn't come back until 6 months after giving birth. I think it was because of the BV.
And with my second pregnancy, I don't remember exactly anymore. But I felt amazing during my pregnancies, especially mentally. I was happy and definitely closer to my partner.
My skin and hair looked better during my pregnancies too, I think because of the pregnancy hormones.
But during my postpartum period, I felt terrible. I felt empty, sad, and constantly emotional. I think it's because all those hormones dropped again.
So I was really burned out during my postpartum period.
    Greetings, Madelene
