Baptism and 1st birthday

Hi
My husband and I have now booked a date in our daughter's birth region (Waregem), but we still have a few questions
1. What do you wear for the baby - does it have to be a traditional baptism gown? Or just a nice white outfit?
2. We are religious, but not churchgoers, so we don't really know how a baptism ceremony works... does it take long, do you need to know certain texts,... how does a baptism actually work? We've never attended a baptism before, because the other children in the family weren't baptized or were already born before we became a couple.
3. What do you give to the godmother and godfather? When do you give it? During the baptism itself or after?
4. What do you give to the priest who performs the baptism?
5. Do you need to bring a baptism candle or anything else?
6. Which book do you need to bring? Marriage book... anything else?
7. Do you know any nice places to have a party afterwards? She'll also be one year old then, and after the baptism we want to throw a party for about 27 people.
8. Where can you get a nice cake made? Or cake pops, cupcakes..., buy nice decorations, what theme... Where can I find ideas? What did you guys do?
If there are any more tips... let me know

You can find a lot of info there. The church where you have it done also provides a lot of information.

At 1 year old, I’d keep the party at home. I think the day is already long enough for the little one.
