Had a late ovulation or is something wrong?

Good morning everyone.
Has anyone here had experience with this?
On May 19th I had a positive test. Last Wednesday I had an ultrasound. According to that, I should already be about 6 weeks pregnant. But the image we saw was more like 4 weeks!
She said either you had a late ovulation and late implantation, or something went wrong. Next week I’ll have another ultrasound.
Are there more people here who’ve experienced this?

I've experienced this 3 times.. 2 healthy boys running around and now I'm at 12 weeks with the third.. According to my midwife, there can be a pause in growth early on.. At 8 weeks, my dates were spot on again, so the growth caught up. Glad you only have to wait a week. I had to wait 2 weeks every time.. But anyway.. Strength. The waiting is hell!

Thank you for your reply! So it can still turn out well! I had actually lost a bit of hope
Fingers crossed, fingers crossed, fingers crossed...

I totally understand.. I lost track all 3 times too.. Even though I already knew it could just go like that for me. I only had bleeding in the first few weeks all 3 times, and that makes it extra uncertain..
But please keep me updated.. It's nice to know how it turns out.. And if you want to ask anything, feel free to reach out.. I've got some experience with a weird start to pregnancy by now..

Thank you, I will do that! I don't have any other stomach pain or bleeding or anything... all my symptoms are actually getting worse day by day, which makes it even more confusing! Yesterday they also took blood for hCG, I'll hear back today... there's nothing else to do but wait...

Oh, that's nice that they're doing something to get some clarity... But worsening symptoms always seem like a good sign to me.

    Yes, that's really nice indeed?

The midwife just called and the hCG level was almost 10,000, which would correspond to about 4 weeks, so she couldn't rule anything out yet, but there's just as much chance it'll go well as that it won't... Now we're just crossing our fingers that the ultrasound on Wednesday goes better!

You always have a chance that something goes wrong, but for now it seems like the ultrasound was pretty good. Are you feeling more reassured?

So the ultrasound was indeed good, but I’m apparently only 4 weeks along. Still finding it quite nerve-wracking. I also don’t quite get why I’m apparently at least 2 weeks shorter than expected... but anyway, we’ll wait until Wednesday!

Well, maybe you're experiencing the same thing as I did... That you're not 2 weeks less pregnant, but that the baby's growth temporarily pauses. I was completely back on track 2 weeks later, so the little one had a major growth spurt.

Well, we're just waiting! What I'm wondering now is... if it did go wrong, could hcg still be that high?
  12. Knuffel #13

I don't know if it'll be that high, but I think your body can unfortunately still produce hormones just because there's something in your uterus.. Whether it's viable or not..
There's nothing else to do but wait.. Do you have any plans for distraction for the coming week?

Hmm, okay, that doesn't really mean anything either, so... I just have to work and I've got a little girl, so hopefully the time will fly by a bit.
