Question about HCG

S1984
I have a question about hCG doubling. April 2nd was my period, and April 19th or 20th was my ovulation. My cycle varies from 28 to 31 days. Now I tested lightly positive on April 29th with a Kruidvat test. This is my first pregnancy, so I guess you understand that I'm insecure and test every day like a fool to see if the line gets darker. I had read that hCG doubles every 48 to 72 hours. I've seen tests that became significantly darker within a few days. With me, almost not at all? So I'm getting a bit worried. I also did a Clearblue, which gave 1-2 weeks. Should I be worried? Why does it stay so light? Hopefully, you can take some stress away. I'm already scared of miscarriage or EPP.

I can't see the photo very well. I tested once with a day in between, and it was a very faint bit darker, so it was already positive. Meanwhile, this is day 3 overdue. I'll test again tomorrow just to be sure. I've already made an appointment with the midwife. I'd just wait a bit longer and test again in 2 days. Not every body produces HCG at the same speed.

Hi S1984, no matter how hard it is, I hope you can let it go a bit. Being more focused on it doesn't help in any way. Unfortunately, certainty doesn't exist in this wonderful process. Personally, I tested light positive 2 days before my period. Then a week later I tested again and it was much darker. After another week, it was darker than the control line. Testing every day just makes you insecure. The fact is, you have no bleeding and you have a positive test. Try to get used to the idea that you are pregnant and test again in a week, hopefully strongly positive. Kind regards, floydi

With me, the lines didn't turn super dark right away either. But my hCG was already 2301 at 4 weeks and 3 days. So don't stare at the lines too much.
