Bleeding at 5 weeks pregnant

Dear ladies,

I just entered my 5th week today.
I was at the ER last night because I've had light bleeding for 4 days now. Not a huge amount, but constant.
Blood was drawn and hCG was still present.. I just don't know where the blood is coming from.. I also had an ultrasound last night but nothing was visible.
Any other ladies with experience with this?

I also have IBS.. and I'm extremely stressed.. My stomach hurts, aches, and gurgles.. Is this normal according to you all? Or is it a bit worse for me because I get this often?

On Tuesday, I'll have another blood test to see if the hCG has risen or fallen, and whether it's a miscarriage in progress.. (with all that bleeding)
The gynecologist couldn't give an answer, it's 50/50.
Who can reassure me?

I've been home for 4 days now and need to rest in case it is a miscarriage.. to not bring it on further and maybe even recover..

Thanks for reading this...
Love, a scared, eager-to-be mom-to-be!

    Oh, that's not nice!
I can reassure you in that I also had bleeding regularly during my two pregnancies. And still ended up with two healthy kids.
Unfortunately, that doesn't say anything about the course of your pregnancy, and the doctor is right with a 50/50 chance.
I'm now 5 weeks and 4 days pregnant and bleeding again too. Even though I know my body seems to handle it normally, it still makes me super nervous. It just doesn't say anything, and no one wants to lose their baby.
Wishing you lots of strength, and let me know on Tuesday how your hCG was?

How sweet that someone is already responding.. Thank you..
I'm definitely not the only one, but my world is falling apart right now..
Testing on Tuesday and getting the results on Wednesday..
    I'll definitely let you know.
    Thank you ????

Oh, that's indeed nerve-wracking, babyindec17. I've had it myself 2 times. Unfortunately, I can't give you a hopeful story from my side, because for me, the bleeding did mean a miscarriage. But like knuffel says, it's 50/50 so hopefully it'll go well for you too. On an ultrasound they usually can't see anything that early so that doesn't have to be a bad sign. I fear you'll have to hold on and wait until Tuesday. I'm definitely crossing my fingers that your hCG has risen nicely by then. Strength!

    Thanks, little snowflake...
    I'll wait... With dread...
But I have to go through with it...

I had a heavy bleed at 8 weeks pregnant and was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. The cause was never found, and now I'm already 38 weeks pregnant.

Unfortunately, I also had a sudden bleed at 5 weeks, and after a week, I lost a little clot. I knew right away that I had lost my baby. I hope to get pregnant again soon. Is it weird that I hope this happens as soon as possible? Or should I wait a bit first? ???

    Ladies...
So I actually had a miscarriage and my hCG was already down to 130 on Tuesday... The gynecologist called with bad news. Got my period today.. Very quickly.. My body is clearing out fast and getting clean again.. And the next ovulation is around May 3rd.. We're hoping for a new chance.. Ladies who've been through this too.. Strength.. And good luck. Everything will be okay with us..

Oh, that's so sad, babyindec17. I hope you get a positive test soon that sticks around. Strength!

Naomi85, I also wanted to get pregnant as soon as possible after my miscarriage. Beforehand, I was quite patient, but once I had been pregnant, I wanted that feeling back immediately. For us, it was successful right away in the next cycle, but unfortunately, it ended again at 5 weeks. Four months later, we finally had a keeper Good luck, I hope your patience is rewarded soon!

I'm also so scared that if I get pregnant again right away, something will go wrong... I'm keeping my fingers crossed for everyone ????

    Hi...
    Had blood taken yesterday.
Called today and what came out..
Hcg went from 137 to 400.. After the news of my miscarriage, this is inexplicable according to the gynecologist.. It could be an ectopic pregnancy and I have to wait and see if I start getting severe abdominal pain.. Getting blood drawn again the day after tomorrow to see if it's still rising..
Strange.. The gyn is following me strictly but I'm devastated by all this news in such a short time.. I'm home until Tuesday and we'll see how it goes.. I'm extremely scared and hope for a good ending is long gone.. If acute pain occurs I have to go to the operating room urgently.. ???????????? so scared

    Hi BabyinApril18,

How has your pregnancy been going?
I'm now 5 weeks pregnant and have had bleeding since last night.
Clear/dark red and clots. Called the doctor, and I have to wait 3 days, then do another pregnancy test and call back to see what to do next..
Terrible to wait, it doesn't feel right.

Couldn't wait, already got all the tests home and had a negative test yesterday afternoon...
    So, a miscarriage.
    The bleeding is now decreasing.
Control appointment on May 22nd with the GP. The appointment was originally for the first ultrasound, now it's to check if everything is clear.
