Very painful breasts, what to do!

Hi there,

I'm 7 weeks pregnant with my second baby and for the past 2 weeks I've had enormous, almost unbearable pain in my breasts. They're extremely sensitive, I can't stand any touch. They feel heavy and tight, 24/7! I have constant stabbing pains. Does anyone have tips? This is almost unbearable and I'm really not a delicate type...

I had that too during the first weeks of my pregnancy. Could barely sleep, couldn't stand wearing a bra, and even a t-shirt was sometimes too much. I still tried to do it despite the pain, massaging them gently with some body lotion to make them more supple, not too hard, very carefully, and it did help.

How far along are you, Lianne?

I believe it would have been over by week 9 or 10. By the way, I also wore a sports bra instead of a regular one, which kept things more secure and allowed me to handle movements better.

Mira: 8 weeks today, but I've had sore breasts for a week now (before my period was due) and it's only gotten worse????

Unfortunately, it seems to be getting worse for me too.

Went to the GP yesterday. Did better than expected. It's 8 weeks and 6 days today. She explained that it's mainly due to the high levels of hCG hormone in the first 12 weeks. After that, it often gets less. Tips work differently for everyone. I notice it's worse in the mornings than later in the day. Hopefully it'll decrease even more in the coming weeks. How are you doing, Mira?

I've had this for almost 8 weeks too! And especially itching in the last few weeks!!! For the past 2 weeks, I've also been dealing with dry nipples with some scabs here and there!!! Have you guys ever experienced this? And what did you do about it?

Mira, is it getting better for you already?
