Your boss might be upset about it, but I don't think she should take it out on you, and certainly not take such measures regarding your contract. There's a lot to be said for honesty, but I find it logical that you don't share your desire for a child right away during a job interview. It's very private, and you're not even sure if you can get pregnant.

Good luck and don't let your manager talk you into anything. Enjoy your pregnancy!

Thanks for your reply. I do understand that she’s upset because I’m pregnant and they’ll have to start over again, but if you hire a 27-year-old woman who’s been with the same guy for 8 years, you should expect stuff like this, right? Her man came up to me and said after I told him, “Don’t you dare call me a ‘tramp’ for the rest of your life; those people are nothing,” and then he walked away. The more I think about it, the angrier I get.

Thanks, I’ll read through it again.

I agree with Emma. It's part of life, and women have children once in a lifetime. The leave doesn't last forever, and before your boss realizes you're gone, your leave is already over. Don't let your boss get to you, and I would involve the company doctor.

As soon as my boss would dare to react in such a way, I’d stand up and leave the building immediately.
