Worried

Hi mamas!
I'm currently 12 weeks and 6 days pregnant. For the past week, I've been having bleeding. Last night, I woke up from severe cramping. I was really scared something was wrong. Yesterday afternoon, I suddenly felt something come out and I ran straight to the toilet. It turned out to be another bleed. Eventually, I called my doctor, and just to be safe, I went to the hospital for an ultrasound. It turns out my placenta is low-lying (previa). I've done a bit of research and it seems it can still move as the uterus grows. I'm really worried and going through a lot right now.
Does anyone here have a similar experience?

Haven't spoken to my partner anymore because I'm mainly under the care of the gynecologist right now. I've already been in the emergency room a few times due to dehydration. I'm actually just starting to get a little better from my extreme vomiting. I need to keep an eye on the bleeding and contact them immediately if the bleeding worsens, or if I get abdominal pain/cramps or a fever. Just trying to stay as calm as possible now.

Hi xav, I also had a serious bleed around that time due to my placenta. It lasted for a month for me, but it gradually decreased. I took two weeks off work to rest as much as possible, but otherwise everything was fine with the baby. I'm almost 19 weeks now and haven't seen any more blood, but the gynecologist did warn me that it could happen again—placental bleeding can be very heavy! I also had one strong contraction that night that I thought was too intense! After 5 minutes, the bleeding started. But I didn't have any more contractions, just very mild twinges, but yeah, during that period the uterus grows very quickly, so it was normal. As long as you don't have pain or anything like that, take it easy, but it's indeed frightening when you see all that blood, of course! I hope for you a continued good pregnancy and hope you find this message helpful!

Oh yeah.. in the hospital I lost a huge clot, but it was just blood that had clotted and suddenly came out! I briefly thought everything was coming out, but luckily not. I was completely panicked, but fortunately, it was just a clotted mass. On the ultrasound, they still saw some clots, but those eventually dissolved on their own, which is probably why I bled for 4 weeks. I did have to insert a Utrogestan pill three times a day. This calms the uterus and helps reduce the bleeding.
