Work conditions and additional discomforts and stress

Hi

I'm pregnant and my due date is August 3, 2017. I'm 39 years old and there's a gap of a bit more than 12 years between my youngest and the baby in my belly. No longer the youngest mom. I don't feel good at the moment. I have stomach pain, especially when I exert myself. As soon as I get to work, I have a constant hard belly and I notice - I'm a receptionist - my patience isn't as stretchable as usual. Despite my enthusiasm. But I also don't find my working conditions optimal in my condition. I work shifts from 8am to 8pm with sometimes barely a 12-hour break in between. Plus it's a special stress environment (for seniors, risk of falling, dementia patients, hard of hearing...) and I find the workplace absolutely not ergonomic. An Ikea chair for less than 100 euros where 7 out of 7 / 24 on 24 adults sit of different weight categories. I am absolutely not happy in my current job. Therefore I've made the decision to still take parental leave before my delivery, despite the loss of income I'll have here. But I can no longer combine this job personally in my condition and my busy family (3 teenagers + self-employed man - 1 out of 1000, by the way). I also had an unpleasant encounter with my mother last week, from which I'm still not okay. I find it quite egoistic of her, but so be it, that's a whole history where I could definitely fill a whole forum with.

In short, I feel like I can't carry this pregnancy in this way. It scares me.
I have an appointment with the gynecologist on March 8th. What seems SO long to me now... pfff... sorry for my sighing and complaining...

I find it really hard to hear that you're feeling so bad... it's good that you're standing up for yourself... I'd rather schedule an appointment with a gynecologist...
    Lots of love and strength.
