Baby Names
Roxanne or Rox-Anne
Hi lovely moms and moms-to-be,
My husband and I are expecting a girl in early May, our first child. We already found a name we both really love, but we're still debating the spelling. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.
The name is Roxanne, and we want it to be fully pronounced, so really pronouncing the "anne" at the end in a Dutch way. If you just write Roxanne, many people will pronounce it as "Roxan". To emphasize the full pronunciation, my husband suggested a different spelling: Rox-Anne. I'm not entirely convinced yet, though. Of course, this makes the name unique. We're also planning to give our child a double surname. Has anyone here experienced this? How is the surname written then? Just the two names next to each other, or is there always a hyphen between the two surnames? If a hyphen is mandatory, I feel like having a hyphen in both the first and last name might be a bit much?
What do you think? Roxanne or Rox-Anne?
Thanks in advance for your honest opinions.
Sara
