Just the gestational sac

Yesterday went with my husband and daughter to our first ultrasound. Super nervous but full of hope. Then it happened, they couldn't find anything.. She asked if I had used an ovulation test instead of a pregnancy test.. No, of course I didn't, after six tests and lots of pregnancy shawls I know and feel that I am pregnant. In the end, they called the gynecologist and yes, a tiny gestational sac.. Need to come back in twelve days, she says it could go either way. Either it's fine, I always get my period on time but the calculation doesn't match she says. I'm so anxious!! And to top it all off, I just got brown discharge!! I'm so scared, does anyone have advice or has experienced the same??

How far along should you be according to your calculation, and how far along were you according to the ultrasound?

I went through the same thing in August. I went in for an ultrasound and was supposed to be 9 weeks along, but the gestational sac was only the size of 5.5 weeks. I got the same message that it could go either way. There was no way it was a late conception since I’d already had positive tests. So I prepared myself for the worst, and unfortunately, two days later I started having brown discharge in the morning. By evening, the miscarriage happened.

There are also women who do have a late conception and even experience bleeding, yet end up with a healthy baby! So it could also turn out positive!

According to the calculation, it was seven weeks, but it turned out to be a week shorter... I really hope it's because of the internal ultrasound, since it hurt me a lot too... I'm really feeling down.

So 6 weeks? Didn't see an embryo yet? I thought you should be able to see a heartbeat by then.

    Good morning MamaN
Thank you for your message. Today I’m already feeling a bit calmer, luckily. Today is exactly six weeks, and it’s quite possible they can only see the gestational sac at this point. There’s nothing else to do but wait until the 14th. And I’m not exactly the most patient person ????. Hoping for a strong flicker of the heartbeat. Love
