Just chatting cozily about our pregnancy

Hi everyone!!
I'm 7 weeks pregnant now and I'd like to start a new topic so we can chat about our pregnancies. I'm also in another thread, but lately it's been all about miscarriages
I think it's super sad for everyone, but I want to keep my head in a good place regarding my pregnancy. Maybe it's hypocritical, but it makes me so sad. I'd rather enjoy it and talk about our little ailments and special things. So I'm starting this topic myself; it seems nice to talk with other ladies who are further along in their pregnancies!
Love, marsjuh

I'm 15 weeks pregnant myself and feeling great.
    I totally get it.
I'm also in a positive flow right now, enjoying all the beautiful things.

Haha, I'm glad with your answer, I thought I was the only one
15 weeks already, super. How are you feeling? I'm sleeping really badly, but otherwise I feel okay. Sometimes I have a bit of a crampy feeling, not really nauseous, but still not great hahaha

hahahahaha I totally get you. I'm now in the phase where I'm in bed by nine, then I'm awake again after three hours, thinking "huh, I want to sleep," but I keep tossing and turning until half past five, then I fall back asleep.
Your body is working overtime with you... not so fun sometimes, because emotionally I'm also putting in overtime. I can even cry while watching a boring show, ahhahaha.

Hahaha, I was so emotional before my pregnancy, crying for no reason at all, and since I've been pregnant, that's just completely gone. But who knows, it might come back hahaha.
Unfortunately, I got a call from the midwife this morning; the appointment has been moved by a day! Grrr, I can't wait, I really want to know how things are going with the little one.

    hahahahaha I totally get it!!
Hope you don’t get that emo flow, and if you do, just let it roll like my sister says hahahahha
Sorry, I’m on the “I’m pregnant” board now and going hahahahhah

Hahaha no, I'm trying to think about it as little as possible! Had one of those days yesterday, but my man pulled me through by planning some fun things!
Today I had a lovely extra day off because my colleagues said I didn't look well!!
I've lost all color in my face and due to the lack of sleep, I even have dark circles haha, which I never get no matter how little I sleep. So this afternoon I took a nice 3-hour nap. My sweet man is voluntarily going to sleep on the couch tonight to see if that helps me sleep better.

hahahhahahaha so sweet and very relatable... sometimes I also drop my husband on the couch and then I sleep wonderfully.
Yesterday I had a lovely day too, I have a 2-year-old who also loves crafting, keeps me nicely busy.
What I really find beautiful about my daughter is that she gives baby a cuddle and kiss every morning and doesn't go to sleep in the evening until she has given baby a kiss and cuddle.
    She really cares so much.
    Amazing, really.
I was really curious how she would handle it, but she's doing super.

Tomorrow there's another ultrasound and she's already saying "mommy, baby, looking tomorrow" hahahhahahaha lovely.

    I did sleep really well!!
But I woke up once, which was really nice—it had been a long time since I slept so well!
Oh, so relatable. My husband has a daughter from a previous relationship who’s 8, and she already knows! She’s totally into the baby. Every weekend she’s super curious about how big the baby is. And whenever she comes in, she first gives a hug and says hello to the baby. And when she goes to bed, it’s the same thing hahaha. Really super sweet!!
Tomorrow I’m going to the midwife for the first ultrasound. She’ll probably be disappointed she can’t come along, but I think it’s still a bit risky to bring her to the first one. Better to wait until the next one!

    how did it go?
my ultrasound went super well, she's growing well hihi
next time I'll bring her along, I notice my daughter really enjoys it. hoping it strengthens our bond too.

    The ultrasound was really great!!
The heartbeat was already very strong and the baby was moving around a lot
The midwife also reassured me that if the baby is already so active and the heartbeat is so strong, the chance of a miscarriage is very small
I'm now 9 weeks and the baby is 2.3cm. On Feb 15th, we're going back for another scan and then she'll just keep growing nicely!
It's so nice to hear that your little one is doing so well too!!

Hi Marsjuhh, an ultrasound like that is super nice, right! We had ours last Wednesday. We saw the little heart beating, it was so special. Our midwife also said that the chance of something going wrong was small when she saw our ultrasound.
  12. marsjuh88 started this #13

Oh how nice, D. It really put me at ease too!
But we have another little problem here!
The blood test!! If it's up to my husband, he wants to get tested for Down syndrome and if there's a chance after those 3 tests, he wants to terminate the pregnancy.
I on the other hand am okay with doing the first test but I could never bring myself to terminate it!
He agreed to not test at all for now. Because if we get lucky, he doesn't want to know beforehand since I don't want to terminate.
Pfff... sometimes I think maybe I'm being selfish but I'm sure I couldn't bring myself to terminate even just thinking about it.
  13. D. #14

Ah, I get it! We haven't really talked about that. I have an intake appointment tomorrow, so maybe we'll discuss it then. Let's hope everything is fine and healthy.

    What a lovely forum!
I've been able to join in the conversation since yesterday. I was convinced I was pregnant, and it only took one month after stopping the pill, and yes, yesterday I got confirmation with tests. I've also been feeling nauseous for a few days now, which isn't fun at all, but hey, it's part of the package. Did you all get nauseous so quickly too?
  15. Anonymous Guest #16

Great decision, seriously!! I made that choice too, I'm not going to test anything. We always assume the best and that everything is healthy, and whatever comes, comes.
    Stay positive.
  16. marsjuh88 started this #17

    Congratulations, Marietje!!
My intestines were very bloated at the start and that made me feel nauseous and very "full".
Thanks anonymous! I'm also so glad that my husband isn't forcing anything on me and I've been able to reassure him a bit by showing him that at our age the chance is small anyway.
And yeah, just stay positive now! I wore my first maternity pants today!! What an invention, they feel so nice!!
