Brown blood loss

Hi! I just found out I'm pregnant a week ago and I'm apparently 6 weeks along, so it's very early. But today I had some brown discharge—does this mean things are going in a bad direction? I don't have any stomach pain or cramps, and it only lasted for a moment before it stopped. It's my first pregnancy, so I have no experience at all, but I was really startled by this. Can you guys help me out or share any experiences?

    It could be old blood from implantation. Doesn't necessarily mean anything. If you want reassurance, contact your midwife and discuss it with her. Maybe you can get an ultrasound earlier to see if everything is going well.
