Hi Caroline, you're not alone; I'm also 18 weeks pregnant and have this problem too. Take vitamins and I've been to the doctor who says there's nothing you can do except rest. I also sleep very restlessly at night. And I'm already home too, hehe, or is it being lazy? Love, Tammi
Hi Caroline, I totally relate to your story.
I was also removed from my job preventively, so I've been home for quite a while now.
The first 3 months I was worthless, nauseous, tired, ... During the second trimester I was luckily no longer so nauseous. That tiredness did linger though. With moments of feeling better, mind you.
My values are all tip-top according to the gynecologist.
I just take my vitamins, rest and sleep a lot.
I thought when I was allowed to stay home from the start: yes, now I can finally get things done properly in our little house, renovate, clean up, ... but that didn't happen, mind you. Those first 3 months were gone in a flash and because that tiredness lingered - I did much less than I wanted to. Now in my 3rd trimester and now fairly quickly exhausted, fluid in my feet and legs (ouch, ai in the evenings) and my belly seriously in the way...
I try not to worry too much about it, but sometimes I do think, maybe I should have done more.
Luckily my boyfriend is very sweet and understands this. He doesn't expect anything either.
Everything is going well with our little one and with my values, that's what matters most, right.
Hmm.. hearing that, it's not so abnormal after all
My gyn also said last time that my levels were tip-top, so that couldn't be it, and I thought hmm.. most people say you should feel tip-top right now and super active! But hearing that, it's not so crazy to still get those fatigue waves, or even get them again..
Tineke, I'm taking it easy too, okay.. there are days when Tom comes home and makes a face like "wow, what happened here", but yeah.. unpacking boxes does create a mess, right! Everything needs a new spot, and sometimes you don't know right away what you're going to do with it..
But he doesn't mind it either, okay! I really have a super expectant dad! He's very concerned and involved in the pregnancy, regularly asks if I've filled out the '9 months diary', rubs my belly with oil every night, etc.. that's super!
@Caroline,
I'm almost 25 weeks now and still really tired... It has a lot to do with the weather. One moment it's warm, then cold, then hail, then almost 40 degrees. How are you supposed to deal with that? You get tired from it...
If it is pregnancy diabetes... Then it will show up during the test in two weeks... That would explain a lot.
It's nice that your husband is so involved. Enjoy it while it lasts..
