When are you telling your parents?

Hi everyone,
Quick question: when did you tell your parents you're pregnant? On one hand, I want to run straight to them... On the other hand, I'm waiting for the first ultrasound (this Saturday)... or should I wait until 12 weeks for more certainty?
After 3 positive tests in 3 days, I'm pretty sure I'm pregnant, but it still feels surreal (first time). Saturday we'll know for sure!!
I'd love to hear what you did or plan to do. Maybe even a fun way to tell them?

We told them when I was 6 to 7 weeks old, only to our parents. And if we hadn't told them, they would have found out anyway at 9 to 10 weeks due to a hospital admission. We put a bib around our dog's neck that said 'you're going to be grandparents' and let him walk around the house until they saw it

I told my parents after 6 and a half weeks. This was due to circumstances regarding my dad's health.
I wanted to keep it quiet until 12 weeks, but on the other hand...... if something goes wrong, you can still turn to them!
My dad had a birthday and I gave him a book for the best grandpa.

According to my calculations, I should be 7 or 8 weeks pregnant now. That's why I'm having doubts... My boyfriend can't wait, by the way!!!

You should do what feels right for you; no one else can decide that for you.

With my first, I told them at 8 weeks. I had bleeding too, and it was nice that they knew.
I had a box of rusks wrapped with a card that said we didn’t know yet which gender we were expecting. It was super sweet, and their reactions were fantastic!

With the second, I’d want to keep it private until after 12 weeks. My mother-in-law and sister found out early, and I really didn’t like that. Do what feels right for you. Girls.

Sorry for the bad punctuation, but my keyboard is a bit broken haha.

I told our parents within a day of finding out ourselves. Even if something had happened, I would have told them anyway. But do what feels right for you; there's no right or wrong time.

I had a plan to tell them, but they figured it out before I even took off my jacket. When we came inside, my dad was just making a cocktail and asked if I wanted one too. I turned red and said no. That was clear enough.

I told my parents right away. The first and second time things went wrong for me, and since my parents were in the loop, I could let out my sadness, anger, and confusion to them. I found that really comforting personally. But I also had my mom at the birth, and apparently, many people don't like to think about that. It's all so personal. Do what your heart tells you to do :-) Congratulations on your pregnancy, enjoy it :-)

We told our parents right away. I told mine about 30 minutes after the test; I was so light-headed I wasn't sure if I was seeing things or not. So I went to my parents with the test. I threw the test on the table and said, "Mom, you tell them, I can't see anymore????"

I told them at 7 weeks, with a little photo frame with a poem, and to my dad with homemade cards (he plays Magic).
I also just thought that if something goes wrong, then that’s what happens, but I do have their support and they know about it.

Definitely do what feels right for you! With our first, I told people at 8 weeks. This time, my parents already knew we’d been trying for a while, so I told them on the very first day. We had a miscarriage in September, and it was really nice to have support from your (in-)laws and friends.
    Best, Stefanie

    Quick update;
We had our first ultrasound yesterday and we're 7 weeks pregnant! We printed the photos as a New Year's card and surprised our parents, brothers, and sisters with it! What a lovely way to end 2016!

What great ideas! I'm going to call the doctor tomorrow to make an appointment. Once she confirms the pregnancy, we'll tell the immediate family. My sister already knows—I wanted someone with experience to help me look at the test

I told my mom right away during all 3 of my pregnancies. Now I'm expecting the fourth and told her right after the test too. But that's mainly because I wanted to share it with her extra now. Because I was in shock when I found out I was pregnant with the fourth while our youngest daughter is only 9 months old.

And my mom told my dad automatically.
