Hi ladies,

I'm actually looking for some mums who have 2 kids with not much age difference. My son is about a year and a half old and I'm currently pregnant with the second one. I'm so incredibly happy after my miscarriage in August! But sometimes I get stressed thinking about having two! Two kids who want mum's attention, two to dress and feed, two to play with... and then work! Two to take to daycare and get ready for in the morning. Sometimes I think, ah, it's just a matter of getting used to it and planning a bit, and it'll be fine. And sometimes I think, oh my goodness, how am I going to manage that!

So that's why I'm asking you ladies... how was the transition from one to two? How did you handle work and everything else?

My oldest was 11 months old when I was pregnant with baby #2.

I was in the same boat as you, so curious about how I was going to manage it all!

I know it's different for everyone, but I found the transition from 1 to 2 kids much more intense than from 0 to 1.

It took about 8 weeks for me and the two girls to get into a rhythm. I especially didn't know what to do with the youngest; she could sense it and was often completely overwhelmed. Now baby #2 is 4 months old and the oldest turns 2 on Thursday... it's so cozy now! Give the oldest something to do when you're busy with the youngest, set your alarm (on workdays) a quarter of an hour earlier so you have time for feeding, etc. It'll all work out fine!!!!

Sorry, maybe not such a positive message hihi but who knows, maybe everything will go smoothly for you too!

    Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Haha you're just being realistic... my little boy is now really clingy and jealous, so sometimes I think, oh dear, he might actually attack the baby later

Do you also work with your kids? I'm currently at home but I do want to go back to work eventually.

It'll be fine, just keep breathing. I was pregnant again when my daughter was 8 months old, and there's 17 months between them, it's super cozy! Let the oldest help out and involve him in everything, as long as he likes it.
Now they are 3 and almost 2 here, and they really grow up together, it's so beautiful to witness. Now there's a slightly bigger age gap; when the baby comes, the oldest will be 4 and the youngest 2.5.

You'll love the second one just as much as you do the first one now; you might just need a bit more time to adjust.

I'm a daycare provider, and the plan is that I'll go back to work within three months after giving birth.

I didn't find the transition from 1 to 2 nearly as tough as from 0 to 1.
You're already in a rhythm of caring. Meals, naps, etc.... The second one automatically falls into that groove. That was my experience. And where you might want to do everything by the book with the first... you can maybe let go of that perfectionism more with the second. Relax!!!! It'll be fine.
