Hi there,

My name is Liesje and I'm 20 years old.
I found out last week that I'm pregnant.. I had actually already noticed a bit because I started feeling nauseous pretty early on and it's only getting worse now..
This wasn't planned.. it was such a stupid mistake to have unprotected sex, and it hit the mark right away... but it happened and I want to take responsibility for it now... but that's super hard in my situation...
I never had a serious relationship with him, we were together at first, but it turns out he has an addiction background and is back on coke... I had no idea because when I met him he was clean..
I'm trying to get my own life back on track because I've been through so much.. I don't have a drug history myself, but I've only been out of detention for about 2 months, I served quite some time and I'm not psychologically ready to raise a child. At the same time, I want to take responsibility for my mistake. He left me now because I don't want an abortion. The day I found out, I told him right away and he immediately said it should go.. I didn't go along with that and made an appointment at the abortion clinic for the abortion pill.. I didn't go to the appointment because I've always been against it... his parents call me and try to talk me into an abortion..
He sends me threats and says that if I keep my baby he doesn't know me and doesn't know whose kid it is.. in short, he's just a jerk!
What is the sensible thing to do in my situation?
I'm just trying to get my life back on track by going to school and undergoing treatment for my psychological issues that I've been struggling with for a long time due to detention...
I'm really tangled up with myself, I've always been a fighter, and I'll fight even more for my child...
I'm extremely confused and don't know what to do...
I don't want to get any regrets or feelings of guilt from this....

You apparently get professional help; discuss it there.... they can better support a decision!

    Hi Liesje,

I’d also seek professional help, and do it right away. Someone who can look with you at what’s best for the baby in this situation (the baby didn’t ask for this, is vulnerable, and deserves the best mom possible).

    Wishing you lots of strength!
