Can't tolerate food.

Hi everyone,

I'm 8 weeks pregnant now.
And I've had a repulsion towards dinner for a few days now (*almost 2 weeks*).
I do cook nicely though.
But eventually, my partner eats it because I just can't get it down...
Instead, I eat bread and fruit.
But well... I'm in the early stages... and I let myself be persuaded to pick up the store-brand vitamins from Etos.
Now the box is in my kitchen cupboard, but I haven't taken the folic acid yet.
I haven't taken those vitamin tablets yet, and I don't really know what I should do with them or why I was persuaded to get them,
since everywhere it says to consult your doctor first.
By the way, it's someone I've never met in person. Just a voice on the phone (!)

I do take my folic acid every morning with breakfast though, although
I'm starting to get repulsed by breakfast too..
I hadn't eaten breakfast for over 13/14 years until I found out I was pregnant, then I started again and it went well.
Before that, I always had to gag..

But well... I don't really know what I should do and how and such...
Tonight I'm trying to get some pizza down, I know it's very unhealthy..
Had potatoes yesterday but the red cabbage OMG it smelled so rancid.
I have that with all vegetables too (-_-"

Love, IvyB

Prenatal vitamins (not regular multivitamins, since those contain vitamin A) I would definitely take if you're not tolerating your food well. That way you'll at least get all the vitamins you and your baby need. And still eat whatever you're craving, so if it's just bread and fruit, then eat only that. It also helps to take a B-complex vitamin; this will reduce the nausea quite a bit. If it really gets too severe and you can't keep anything down at all, I'd go see the GP.

    Hey Iza,

    I'm not feeling nauseous.. (thankfully)
I just can't stand the smell of dinner..
I also forced myself to eat "the pizza" with a lot of reluctance..

These are Etos vitamins for pregnant women.

I'm going to work off a bowl of grapes later...
    Thankfully they are seedless

They also sometimes say that the female body does this (can't tolerate certain foods) to protect your unborn baby from bacteria that might be in the food. Very natural process, but still unpleasant for you

Look at what I learned today

Gotta say... the grapes didn't work out..
    Feeling not too great.
Pretty sluggish... And pizza feels like it's stuck in my throat

Gonna go read a book in bed.
Bucket's already next to my bed so I don't have to run down the stairs.
    Just in case..
