I'm 5 weeks pregnant & my question is, can I still exercise? Because my sport is horse riding & can I continue doing it or not?

Yes, you can exercise, but depending on how far along you are, some sports might not be recommended anymore due to the risk to your little one or because they put too much strain on your abdominal muscles. Check with your midwife how long you can still ride horses. Right now it’s probably no problem, but later on it’s probably not advisable anymore in case you fall off or something. Sports like swimming and walking you can keep doing until almost the end of your pregnancy.

    And running or rollerblading too?

As long as you don't do kickboxing and you can't fall, just keep exercising. Let the fitness instructor know, and maybe try a different type of exercise. Congratulations on your pregnancy.

Horse riding is discouraged after a certain point, so check with your midwife when exactly. Also, you can still train your middle abdominal muscles on the sides. As for endurance sports like running, cycling, etc., make sure your heart rate doesn't get too high, and drinking enough is super important so you don't overheat. So it's better to adjust your pace. Personally, I wouldn't rollerblade anymore, given the higher risk of falling. Also, be careful with contact sports.

So there are definitely things you need to take into account! But mainly keep exercising, that's good for your little one too, and with a fit body, the chance of complications during childbirth is smaller.
