Overdue but negative test

Hi everyone,
We've been trying to conceive for a little while now. I was supposed to get my period on Saturday, but it hasn't come yet. I've taken two tests, both negative.
Am I testing too early, or am I just not pregnant?
Usually, I can set my clock by when my period is due.
I sometimes have lower abdominal pain and breast tenderness, and my breasts seem to have gotten bigger too.
I've been reading all sorts of different things online, which only makes me more unsure.
Can anyone help me?

Hi Patty, unfortunately I can't give you an answer. You hear and read so often that as soon as you try to get pregnant, you suddenly get your period for no apparent reason. Maybe because you want it so badly.
You could also just be pregnant. Which test did you use? If you want, buy a Clearblue digital one, they're very accurate and try it first thing tomorrow morning.

    Good luck!

Thanks for your reply. I used the one from Kruidvat. I'll try the other one out.

I think you can only wait and indeed test with another test tomorrow.

    Good luck!

It's still very early for a test; everyone produces different amounts of the hCG hormone. Maybe it's better to wait a few more days. With me, there was nothing visible in the first few days, and after 3 days, a very faint line. Even though I normally know exactly when my period is due.

Okay, thanks for your reply. I just bought a new Clear Blue Digital test. I think I'll put off testing until Thursday. There are 3 in the pack, so I'm good for a bit. Hopefully it won't be necessary.

Unfortunately, I already got my answer. I just became pregnant, the test was correct after all. What a pity, better luck next time, thanks for the responses

Oh, poor girl! Well, have a glass of alcohol first since you can have one now and then before the next round, and hopefully you'll be back here soon!
